If this is happening in mobile, open a new tab and swipe to the history list. Long tap on the entry and tap "Remove"

HI sandrag54, This sounds really annoying, and it may be able to be removed with this article:Remove websites from the address bar suggestions
However you can also remove the website from your history by opening History > Show all history and searching for the website and right clicking and hitting "Delete"
