Which flash player will work with Mozilla Firefox on my HP laptop

more options

I just bought a new HP laptop and when using Mozilla Firefox it asks for a plug in to get yahoo games and other video functions to work on various sites including Yahoo news live coverage. I downloaded Adobe flashplayers newest version and now the videos work but a box asking for permission to let I.YIMG.com use my computer for files. It does not respond when I click on deny or the help questoin mark in the box. The box just remains in the middle of the video and eventually I get a not responding message and have to go into task manager to end the process for Mozilla Firefox. It's the only way to get out of the not responding problem as no other function would work on your site at that time. What should I try doing? I believe I downloaded Adobe from their official site but am willing to remove Adobe form my programs and download it from a site you recommend just in case. When I use Inr=ternet Explorer everything works and no plug ins were asked for. Mozilla worked fine on my old computer that ran Windows 7. This new computer is running Window 8.1. What a POS Windows 8.1 is. I wonder if Windows 10 will be better! Thanks for the help! BAX

Hi thebax, It is possible that it is asking permission to establish a connection with the video stream on that page.

The domain mentioned is registered to the yahoo domain: http://whois.domaintools.com/yimg.com you can ask yahoo support about that dns just in case.

The storage permission dialog? I'm not sure why, but sometimes I have to keep clicking the button for 5+ seconds before the plugin gets the message... luckily I haven't seen it crash while I was trying to do that.

You probably don't want to just give all sites storage permission in advance, but if that's the only workaround that works, you can do that using this application from Adobe (Macromedia, the original developer of Flash, was acquired by Adobe ages ago) by pre-approving 10KB of storage (then you only get asked if they want to store more than that):
