Ran your update today. Thunderbird has completely disappeared. The shortcuts no longer work. When doing a search in Explorer I find a Thunderbird folder in C:\Programs. There is no file named Thunderbird there and the three exe files either do noting or complain that something is missing.

I am now missing literally thousands of emails.

I have received two emails from Spark wanting me to switch my email to their program. I hope you can fix this screw up because if you do not I will switch my email to Spark and make my default browser Chrome. I do not support companies that do what you just did. Completely unacceptable.

Windows 10 Home No info on Thunderbird because you messed up and I can't run it.

I migrated one mac, which was intel based, to another, which is M4. It all went fine. I have the same versions of OS and Thunderbird on each, before the migration. The new machine is a 2025 Mac Studio. The old machine is a 2018 Mac Mini, 6 core Intel Core.15

On the old machine in Thunderbird, under my user, all my files are listed. On the new machine, files are not listed.

I saw a lot of information/suggestions to replace the Profile folder under: USER/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles And I copied it straight over from the old machine, with negative results.

I did notice that under profiles, it continues: m8mojurw.default-esr/Mail/Local Folders/ where there are some other goodies, some of which are "documents".

however, on the new machine, those same files are there, except they are "unix executable files"

I have migrated many times over the years and this hasn't happened.

I have done all of the suggestions I found so far, such as the Profile copy/past, reinstalled Thunderbird from scratch, looked thru comparisons of the Account Settings....

Oh, a couple more things:

If I look under my user and go to "Account settings" then "copies & folders" to looks different on the 2 machines. The old machine has: a check next to "Place a copy in" and under that a dot for "Sent folder on:" and my user name. On the new machine there is: "Place a copy in" and I cannot write into the "sent folder on" space, I can only select Choose and Account -> Local files as if the user doesn't exist (?) Thanks

Hi all. I recently had a terminal problem on my Win 10 computer so have bought a new Win 11 machine. I ran Thunderbird mail on the old Win 10, had 5 email accounts, had about 12 local folders and had my Profile stored in a folder on the desktop. The folder was moved there some years ago but don 't remember how I did it. I moved it there because this folder gets backed up every night.

So, I have managed to remove the HDD from my old machine and have located the 'old' profile folder. I now need to re-install Thunderbird on the new machine and match it up to my old profile folder (I think...)

Any advice on how to do that?

I have an extension that I depend on and it is not compatible with the current version of Thunderbird so I need to backup until it starts working again. How can I download earlier version of Thunderbird?

Got a new macbook, did migration from the old to the new. Thunderbird failed to migrate. The icon on the desktop did, but it is not listed in the application list. Both are running the same software version, Tahoe 26.5.2. Talked to Apple, they tried to help, but in the end, they answered that it wasn't their software, so contact Thunderbird. Thoughts??? Please send me a link to revert my Thunderbird version to one that supports image attachments resizing. Current version does not and there is no compatible add-on for it.

I have a new HD and installed Linux Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS. I installed Thunderbird version 2:1 snap 1-Oubuntu3. The program will not open Just get "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

Probably my falt, the last version of Thunderbird got instaled on my PC. I do not like it, impossibility to read my message on the side of the screen, impossible to reorganise mails via there date after they reorganised themself throw sender order... So, I would like to go back on my old version, probably 143 or 144 ? Does anybody know how to do it without loosing all my data ? Thanks in advance... Pierre A. The pc is a new Dell 8960 running windows 11 home. I installed t-bird from the microsoft store ver 128.5.2. I needed to do a system restore and when it was done Thunderbird.exe was gone. The link that I used to open it went to c:\users\username\thunderbird.exe but there was nothing there named Thunderbird after the restore.

I found Thunderbird at "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MozillaThunderbird.MZLA_128.5.2.0_x64__h5892qc0xkpca\VFS|ProgramFiles\MZLA Package Root\Thunderbird.exe" I made a shortcut to that but the response is "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permission to access the item."

I do have a current copy of the profile.

Hello, I went to https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ or perhaps it was from https://releases.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/ and downloaded the thunderbird-60.6.1.source.tar.xz package, unarchived it and am now stumped :) How to proceed from there?

What is the best way to downgrade from Thunderbird 146.0.1 to the most recent esr release (140.6.0esr?) I seem to recall reading that 146 featured some new data formats that may not be compatible with 140, but I don't find the specifics right now.

The reason I'm downgrading is bugs. I'm aware of the folder naming issue, which I dealt with. But I find a new (to me) bug where 146 will not play notification sounds. This occurs on two of the four (Windows 10 and 11) computers in my house.

I have downloaded Thunderbird from official Mozilla homepage. It seems to be installed correct. I got the icon and a question : should we start Thunderbird now. I answer yes. Then I get the message : Thunderbird is not found ? but I have just loaded it ? I am running windows 11 and I have got newest upgrade.

PS I also have a PC running Linux Mint. Loading Thunderbird here was no problem.

What to do? Can I simply download & install a new Thunderbird version? Had the same problem with pdf-files and a new installation of adobe reader helped. Did run Ccleaner freeware yesterday after quiet a while and now this problem occured for the first time. Btw: I also get this error-window:

Thunderbird has turned into a scam. Each time I try to download it for windows it takes me back to the donation page. I am on my third donation but it never trys to install.

I am getting stopped, dead cold, every time I try to install Thunderbird mail on Linux Mint 22. I've attached a generic article that explains how Akamai's site security services bots are working to protect a site or sites that TB must access to complete it's installation task. In my case it's Comcast/Xfinity. Accordingly, TB installations will not complete and new users are locked out...some for months. The concensus of the devs that have been working on this critical issue is that there is nothing on a new TB user's side that in any way causes or contributes to the issue. I would very much appreciate any information you can provide about a speedy resolution in the works.

Note: The error notification screen "Access Denied" is the same message I get, but with Xfinity referenced.

I am trying to install Thunderbird on a computer with windows 10 pro but install gives a message cannot install require a minimum of windows 10 but I do have that. what can I do please. Regards Neil.
