Dell Inspiron came with OS on a small C: & data on a massive D:. I assumed the Dell-guided migration took care of moving everything necessary to D: ...NOT!!! When C: filled up with data, I was trying to move Thunderbird TB) data to D: & somehow deleted thunderbird.exe. I realized my error when the systray icons for TB, Firefox, & Microsoft Edge responded "Can't open this item." I then accidentally clicked "Y" to "...Delete this item"? When I went to download a new copy of TB, it presented the new user screen. From previous research, I found my profile file and copied it to both C: & D: with a new name to have extra copies. So I have 3 requests 1) What is the safest method for getting TB back? 2) Once that is done, how do I get thunderbird to maintain everything I need on the D: drive? 3) Firefox now works, but all my bookmarks, extensions, etc. are now gone. If that issue is appropriately part of the solution for the above requests, please help me with that as well. I will appreciate your help! Ken Cawthorne

The last time I upgraded my long time Thunderbird account, everything crashed and I lost all my contacts and bookmarks! Why should I ever upgrade again? I reported this a year ago or so and never got any response or help.

Hello, I am trying to migrate from my Zoho mail server to Thunderbird, but for the last few days, Thunderbird does complete fetching the remaining emails from the Zoho Server - or so it seems. As you can see in the pictures attached, in the morning I clicked on "Get Messages" and I could confirm that Mozilla connected to the server and started fetching emails (there were more than 3000 emails pending), but after a few hours, I am back to the same amount of emails as when I started in the morning. You can see from the pictures that the inbox has 60,031 or 60,046 (i don´t know which one is correct). However, the most recent email being displayed is dated 03/06/2024 (which is wrong) and then there is a blank between emails from Jauary 11th to May 15th. Could also it be that Thurderbird´s time stamp is wrong? Why can´t I see any of the emails I received today, for example? Any help would be greately appreciated. Thank you. Why don’t you guys grow up and just charge money for the application like every other successful app? Stop begging for contributions and just charge a fee for the app. I think you’ll find you’ll do quite well and you’ll stop nagging the rest of us who are paying. You all are stuck in this FOSS ideology. It doesn’t exist, Yes, there have been quite a few “Free“ applications developed, but they were funded by someone donating. Usually some liberal cause. Just charge for the app and move on. You will find that you will have a steady stream of income and you’ll be able to develop it more consistently. You might be able to innovate. Who knows, you might even be able to develop a UI that doesn’t look like it was designed in 1995

i SET UP THUNDERBIRD ON MY NEW COMPUTER, SUCCESSFULLY, BUT THREE DAYS AGO MY WEB HOST/SERVERS UPGRADED THEIR SYSTEM. i SPENT THREE DAYS SORTING OUT NEW SETTINGS. CONFIGURATIONS, PASSWORDS, ETC, TO GET IT ALL WORKING, IT WAS DIFFICUL BUT IT NOW WORKS. HOWEVER, I HAVE MANY FOLDERS OF MAIL ,AND MAIL NOT IN FOLDERS, IN THEUNDERBIRD ON AN OLDER COMPUTER. i WANT TO IMPORT THOSE FOLDERS OF MAIL, AND ADD THEM TO MY NEW COMPUTER THUNDERBIRD INBOX SET UP, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AGAIN!" THAT COULD BE A DISASTER. I JUST WANT THE MAIL AND THE FOLDERS. ALL THE VIDEOS i SEE ARE TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AS WELL. CAN I JUST EXPORT/IMPORT THE ACTUAL MAIL FOLDERS AND MAIL, AND NOT SABOTAGE MY HARD WORK BY CHANGING ALL THE NEW SETTINGS AND PASSWORDS BACK TO WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN THE PROCESS?? I recently setup a new Windows 11 computer and installed the latest version of Thunderbird. I have two email accounts. The gmail account presented no problems. When I tried to setup the AT&T account I first obtained an authentication password and setup the account. While I can send email just fine, the account will not download any email. When I go on the AT&T server directly, there are new, sent and deleted email there. The server settings are set to SSL/TLS and OAuth2. What else do I need to setup before I can mail from the AT&T server?

On Sunday 2nd June I removed and then reloaded Thunderbird, which ceased to function the previous day.. Now I can't send but can receive e mails, and it has lost my entire e mail address list. I need this list to be restored asap, please, so I need advice.

Hi I did a backup with Zip.file, and then tried to reinstall. Now somme accounts do not have sent/spam/trash Bin folders. When i try to send a mail, i am told that there is not enouch space on the disk to save the message, and that the message will be save in a local folder ? How can I get back to my "old" and working setup Kind regards Michael

Hi, I'm a MTB newbie Version 115.11.1 and am just trying to import my comcast.net address book from CSV. MTB seems to be totally confused about the columns. I'd be happy to adjust the column assignments, as I think I'm supposed to, but it won't let me. The automatically selected column name is the only option allowed in the drop-down. See attached.

Is this by design? Do I need to reorder the columns within the exported file. Seems a bit much really, but ultimately doable, I guess.

Any other options? Or what am I doing wrong

Hello, Recently I was migrated from Cox email to Yahoo mail and had to change my setting on Thunderbird. The emails work fine, but there seems to a lot of missing folders. I tried to look for the latest backup file, but it does not exist. The latest backup I have is of the year 2022.

Kindly assist me in retrieving my lost folders.

p.s I have searched for the folders under the default profile section but they do not exist.

TB 115.11.0 (64-bit, W10). ABOUT shows 115.11.1 avail. Selecting WHATS NEW gives a "Welcome to Thunderbird Daily page" with some warnings and other links, etc. Going to Release Notes (for 115.11.0) then "See all releases" shows a link for 115.11.1, but when selected, missing page.

I've used thunderbird for a few years, but I think a recent change in outlook.com has messed things up.

My account is detected to use oath2 for authorization, but when I click "done", it tries for a while and then say "unable to log into serve".

What I expect is that it would bring up a web browser or something so I could do the oath dance to enter my credentials, but that doesn't happen.

I installed TB 115.11.0. I started and TB want an E-Mail-Acc.

But i don't want to configure an new acc, i want migrate my old profiles.

I copied the profile-folder as described online, but they didn't appear.

Meanwhile i used an diffrent Mail-Acc and TB starte to sync and delete all older Mails, was wasn't wanted.

So i have an empty Mail-Acc and couldn't migrate my old Mails.

I'm trying to see whether Thunderbird may work for me.

Situation: I've been using a 2012 mac mini, now upgrading to a M1 mac mini.

I have used the mac's "MAIL" program for over a decade. Some of its folders are pretty large.

For reasons not important here, I can't use the apple "migration assistant", and have tried to migrate the folders to the now-current Mail program... and they utterly fail.

Thus, since I liked the look of Thunderbird, I figured I'd see if IT could import the mailboxes. Short answer, not well enough.

I've read up on it, tried various ways, added the import/export extention; of course the program will NOT import mailboxes directly from mac Mail despite claiming to... a known flaw... but it will also not import the MBOX files and then use them.

It does seem to import the whole file, in that if I check the resources for thunderbird in the user file, I see that one test mailbox has indeed kept the full 2.15gb capacity... but rather than showing the roughly 37,000 emails in that file, it only shows about 6,000. I've tried it multiple times, and have gotten different file totals between 5100 and 6300 total.

Any workaround, or is Thunderbird not for me?

I've gone through most of the questions asked regarding this and have tried to follow all of the directions but none of them work. Let me begin by saying this is the worst time I've ever had at migrating from an old computer to a new computer using TB ever. EVER! This is the worst. I am moving from an ASUS Win11 to a HP Win11 so there shouldn't be that much of a problem. I've done this more than a few times so I know the drill of copying the %appdata% from one place to another. I have installed uninstalled deleted reinstalled, uninstalled reinstalled deleted three times and keep getting the same problem and have been doing this going on three days. I donated to get his copy and am about to ask for my donation back if I don't get a very simple answer. I keep getting that error message no matter what I do. I need a very simple walk through on how to get what I am able to save from the old computer into the new computer without a lot of magic and rain dancing and click here and delete this and see if this sticks. I need a very simple take your profile.zip and unpak it here then open TB and do this. PERIOD. The profile is on the same computer not a server. If I cannot get a quick down and dirty answer please just tell me and I'll ask for my donation back and move to MS outlook and deal with their FU'ed POS. I really don't know why TB has taken a turn for the worst here. But it's not looking good IMHO.
