Dear all,
I am having a severe issue using Firefox on Linux. That is when I use the browser to watch YouTube it is almost guaranteed that the entire system will hang, become unresponsive and then require a hard reset.
I'm using Xubuntu 19.04.
The laptop is a ThinkPad T450. It has a standard configuration except that I installed a SSD. I ran a comprehensive self-test using the Lenovo BIOS' testing feature and everything was given the all-clear. I note that the same problem doesn't occur on my preferred WebKit-derived browser which is Vivaldi.
I'm not the only owner of a T450 in my household. Curiously, this other T450 which runs Xubuntu 18.04 (LTS) does not manifest the same issue. This system also uses Firefox as its browser.
I was advised to check the system logfiles. The only mention of anything likely in the logfiles is the xsession-errors file:
(xfce4-panel:1291): xfce4-panel-CRITICAL **: 21:01:45.450: panel-window.c:2245 (panel_window_active_window_geometry_changed): expression 'WNCK_IS_WINDOW (active_window)' failed.

I'd greatly value any help to solve this issue. I'm willing to look at other logfiles or send over any additional information that might help diagnose this problem. Anything to help me get back to using my browser of choice!
Kind regards. Thran

I've been having an issue with Firefox for some time now, like when I load up a video on Youtube or look up pictures on Deviant Art, rather than the page being placed at the top point of the web page, instead it's been moved down the page, even though it's only slightly for Youtube but it's worse on Deviant Art. Like for some reason when I'm browsing, the pictures on the top of results load up at the top correctly but when I go down the results page and click on any picture, the page starts half way down passed the picture and near the comments. I don't think web pages are supposed to start from the middle of the webpage when you load it up.

I also have a linux workstation which has no problems displaying the feed and is on the same network.
Can anyone offer an explanation?

When I got the last 2 or 3 updates of firefox, there were some websites I could not fully access. One of them is accounts google which also means not my youtube account either. All this in non-private browsing. I tried disabling all extensions, I tried in safe mode, and nothing changed. Also some other methods which did not work. And when I get to accounts google to sign in, I click on the next button and nothing happens. So, I tried private browsing and was able to sign-in to youtube and accounts google. I've tried all types of combinations on my content blocking but to no good result. I need a solution, please.

PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO INSANE. Firefox is great with a youtube video download add-on, recently Firefox was asking me to restart with the latest Firefox version 67.01, My youtube downloader was working fine so I put the Firefox restart off till another day and continued for around a week downloading my favourite drummer vids, all was TickaDeeBoo until I decided to go for the latest Firefox 67.01 restart, now my video downloading days are over. I have worked my way through the list of add-on's only to find none of them do the trick. Every time I choose a downloader add-on I click on MP4 360 as it has the audio too, other options are with no audio, no good to anyone. Once clicked, my download destination appears, I click save to store the video in my downloads, in the top right hand corner next to View History & Saved Bookmarks etc is the downward pointing download confirmation arrow which lights up immediately but sadly shows as 0 MegaBytes. Where as when the add-on was working that same downloading arrow would only light up once it had truely downloaded the chosen video. Its really funny you know because about 2months ago I was using an add-on that would only bring up downloading options (MP3,MP4 etc) if you avoided clicking actually on the word "Download", In other words clicking not on the word but away from the word but still inside the box, how weird is that, but it worked everytime, sadly no more. I am a Drummer who follows the lives of my favourite world class Drummers, its great when an add-on works, sound & vision. But when its not working all I can do is record the audio and make do with that. I have been saving in my youtube play list all the video's I've not been able to download in the hope that some day soon that will all change for the better. I sincerely would be over the moon to have this feature back even if its just for a short while (until it all goes pair shaped again) TO THOSE IN THE COMMUNITY, ANY IDEAS ??? Kind Regards, Jonathan.

I know this has probably been asked before, but none of the solutions really work for me. Playing Youtube or other video on sites like Vimeo result in choppy playback. I have ruled out hardware problems, because playing local video works fine. This issue also occurs on Chrome, and turning on or off hardware acceleration does nothing.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I have a Mac on FF v65.0.1 and the comments are there.

This is on MacOS 10.14.3, and a 300Mbit internet connection. The only addons installed are uBlock Origin and User-Agent Switcher.
This never happens in Safari or Chrome, but I don't want to use those because Firefox is the only browser I can stomach on this earth. The rest are all sub-par.
Also... it does this on all my Macs.
