I had around 3000 tabs open I closed the browser completely today. Normally when I reopen firefox all those tabs were appearing still. This time none of the tabs restored I can see tabs in history part namede 19.01.2026 although not all my tabs are there. When ever I try to reload them from the restore history part; firefox doesnt reply and doesnt take the command.

My wife's old Windows 10 HP laptop quit working last week do to some Operating System failure while it was trying to do an update. It finally did a reboot and now it is useless, at least as it is! It will NOT complete the boot process after trying all of the options offered. All that I am able to is exit out of Windows to a "DOS prompt." I am able to get to the Mozilla Firefox folder and others contain within. The new Windows 11 laptop I bought her is working fine with a fresh Firefox browser installed about a week ago. What she wants is her web links, settings and saved passwords "copied" from the old laptop and installed on the new one! We have no idea how many there are to retrieve! I'm hoping that there might only be one folder that I can copy via "command line" prompt to a USB drive and move the file(s) to the new laptop the same way. Can anyone tell me what I need to know? After most recent update all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared and I cannot seem to recover them. This is extremely frustrating. Has anyone else had this happen? I tried using the recovery process but it did not work.

Yesterday, possibly related to updating to version 148, my profile completely disappaered. My old profiles are not visible under about:profiles, but are present on disk. They can not be imported with firefox -P. How do I get my profile data back?

Hello, I reset my PC yesterday.

I didn't know my Firefox password anymore and clicked "Forgot password."

Then I created a new one.

Now my saved online pages and everything else are gone. So synchronization isn't working.

I have an account recovery key.

Will that work? And how?

Please help me.

My primary firefox/google profile vanished along with all bookmarks. Recovery history only shows bookmark from secondary account that is under a different email.

How to I restore the bookmarks (years worth!) from my primary profile?

My computer died when I had many tabs open. Some of them were important. I cannot get back into my old computer to recover them from there. It appears that sync was not enabled. Is there any way I can get them on my new computer?

I can actually see a list of the tabs. When I hit the hamburger icon, the first item is my account. At the bottom of my account is a heading “[username] on [device name]”. Underneath is a list of all my tabs from my last computer.

But I have to open them one by one. Is there any way to batch open these pages?

3 times now, my account has completely reset, forcing me to log into everything again and not working with the key that I copy and pasted and downloaded. I would like my old data back. Why does this keep happening?

so i had a bunch of bookmarks saved, and when i logged in today they are gone, replaced with a message For quick access, place your bookmarks here on the bookmarks toolbar. manage bookmarks (link)

so when I use the link I cant restore bookmarks, cant seem to save new bookmarks, and the FAQ section isnt helping, some of the stps they talk about are greyed out in my version, so I cant click on them etc.

Is this a windows 10 issue? Am I the only one having this problem?

FF 145.0.2 (64 bit) canonical-002 - 1.0 running on Kubuntu 25.10 has suddenly started locking up completely after a minute or so with an "unresponsive". As I have just put in the crash reporter: "I haven't had problems with FF before but just possible that this relates to my growing problems with Thunderbird see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1551791. I putting a question in Mozill Support about trying to keep my tabs and perhaps groups before doing a complete reinstall." So my questions here are:

• I am planning to to a complete clean reinstallation from snap but is there a better (more stable) installation?
• either snap specific or generically: is there a way I can find the open tab list from the debris of this snap installation (and perhaps the groups but that's less important)?

To make a long story short, since this morning, Firefox had no more profiles after an update. The one I am currently using, which came to exist this morning and only contains information from this morning, is the only one that shows up when I try to follow the recovery instructions. My internet history beyond today seems to no longer exist. How do I recover my bookmarks and passwords? Or are they gone forever?

Out of the blue all my bookmarks and passwords disappeared, When I follow your instructions there are no backups in your files. Toolbar is missing and right clicking shows a check mark but no toolbar, I have already switched to Chrome and guess what they have all my bookmarks but no passwords. Passwords are no problem I saved them more so than you backed up your files. I guess it was an update, I don't know. I am 85 years old and have used Firefox a number of those years, probably longer than whoever reads this has has been with us.I guess you know which path I'll be taking from now on. Just thought I would let you know. PS and there will not be anymore automatic updating I'll do it myself I trust me. Stick a fork in me I'm done !

After the latest auto update all of my history, tabs/windows, and bookmarks were deleted and I can't recover them. I have tried importing bookmarks and it does not allow me to upload an old data file and I can't restore my previous session. I tried checking both profiles but neither had my information saved and now when I open the about:profiles says "Another copy of Firefox has made changes to profiles. You must restart Firefox before making more changes."

I'm scared to try anything else because I don't want to mess anything up further but I really need my tabs and history back.

I restarted my computer and then reopened firefox and it had updated and I noticed my bookmarks were gone but my windows/tabs were open, so I tried to choose a file on the bookmark backup and nothing was happening so I restarted and after that all my history and tabs were gone and I couldn't restore them.
