Hi, I'm running FF 149.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11. I've used profiles for a while now and on several occassions I've "lost profiles". Currently I have three profiles which I set up and edited the icon and colour associated with each. When I launch FF I see the Profile Manager and can select any of the three and I can create a new profile which shows here. However, once in any one of the FF profiles I don't see the others - by which I mean that when I go via the hamburger lines top right and click on the current profile, the 'other profiles' section is blank. I also cannot edit the profile from using the edit pencil top right (after clicking the hamburger lines and clicking on the current profile), it takes me to about:editprofile but the page is completely blank. Confusingly, if I go to about:profiles I see two profiles, neither of which shows up in the Profile Manager! I'm going round in circles trying to understand where to edit my exisitng profiles and make sense of the five profiles that don't all show up in the same place!

You forced me to create a profile and I lost all my Bookmarks.

I have multiple profiles set up with the "old system" ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-remove-switch-firefox-profiles ). Now, the new system is available for me, but I can't see an easy way to migrate my existing profiles into the new system.

Hi! I love Firefox, but on updates when my account signs out. I also lose all my Firefox profiles. Even when I sign in again, and sync everything on my Firefox account, I lose my primary and secondary profiles. Whilst it restores my bookmarks and extensions on my account. I lose my bookmarks etc. on my secondary profile.

I'm using FF on both Windows 11 and android, but this problem only effects Windows 11.

I found there're several folders at my "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles", but only one of them works on Firefox. I also checked "about:profiles", but there's only one that is running. And I can't find where to load other profiles.

What happened is that - my PC crashed, after reboot, I found Firefox became a new one. I went to "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles", and luckily found old data still exist safely. But I went to "about:profiles", there's only a new profile. And I don't know how to load the old profile.

So I tried copying files from other profile folder, and paste to replace (or overwrite) the profile that is working. IT WORKS. The new profile is replaced by the old. But it's not a regular way to do so. How to load a profile fold?

I've been using the profile manager, and wanted to delete a profile that i have made. However, when i select the option to delete it, it only opens up a new tab in the profile called "about:deleteprofile', which displays an empty page and does nothing. Then, I would try to delete the profile manually, in the profiles folder, but if I opened firefox or restarted my computer, it would just come back. I have attatched the relevant images below.

Just this week I found it was impossible to get to firefox browsing until I chose an upsetting blob as my profile. Is there anyway to skip this step or at least to change that blob to something that makes a more pleasant experience?

Just this week firefox has been demanding that I choose a profile before I gain access. Can I skip this step? And how can I change the unpleasant blob that I must choose. I have got one answer which requests a screen shot but I can't find my question to attach it. (I can't find the old search questions--but I'm most elderly.) and need links or reminders. Anyway, I'll put the screen shot here.

I have switched OS, from Windows 10 to Linux Mint, and wanted to copy the Firefox profile to the new OS. I tried using this guide: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

I copied the xxxxxxxx.default-release folder, then switched OS to Linux Mint. After copying the files from the backup folder into the new folder, Firefox launches, but is completely blank. See the attached image. None of the buttons work, nor does the address bar or new folders. I also tried logging in to my Firefox account before copying the files, but that didn't work either.

Default Firefox works fine.

The last 2 days when I have shut down my computer then restarted, my Firefox profile has disappeared, along with all my bookmarks, passwords etc. I spent several hours yesterday following all the advice here to get everything back, but nothing worked. I had to create a new profile and then import an old passwords file, which I luckily had saved in Excel. This morning when I switched the computer on, the same thing has happened. I cannot even open Firefox without creating a new profile. I get a pop up box (screenshot attached), which shows no profiles, and i have to create a new one to even open Firefox. Every time I close out of Firefox and want to go back in, I am asked to choose a profile. This has never happened before.Before i give up forever on Firefox and go over to another browser, do you have any ideas how i can stop this from happening, and get my original profile, passwords, bookmarks etc back? This afternoon, I clicked on a link from an email and for the first time got a choose a profile pop-up. I do not want this; I have read info on Mozilla and elsewhere about its purpose but it doesn't say how to just stop the pop-up - there should be an option just stop the pop-up because I don;t want to have to choose amongst options. I have started copy-pasting the links in emails and going to Chrome and will seriously have to reconsider using Firefox of this continues. I don't want to have to type about:config or anything - this should have been an opt out or opt in thing and I want out. Thank you for your help.

It has been two times now where I will open firefox and suddenly all my profiles are gone. I have tried everything to try to get them back like trying to get "old firefox data" back or about:profiles, but there is literally nothing to recover. All of my bookmarks and passwords are fine but I have to log in to everything all over again and reset my home page with all my shortcuts. it is extremely annoying, especially when I use up all the shortcut spaces. It prompts me when I start firefox to create a profile, sign in again, and set firefox as my preferred browser. I have been using firefox for about a year and havent had this problem until a couple of weeks ago. What can i do to avoid having to do this again in the future?

I have moved my profile to a different location on the hard drive to make backups easier. How do I tell firefox where the profile is now located. c:\users\med\my data\PROFILES\mozillA\*.deFAUlt

opened firefox saturday and screen was totally different than what i had. guess it updated, but not returned to my profile. have tried to open my profile and succeeded, but can't get it to come on automatically when i open firefox again. how do i open the profile i want and then keep it opened?

A pop-up suggested that I use profiles to organize and it sounded like a great idea but then after making profile I was having trouble getting tabs from one page to another. Then I discovered that I had to log in my accounts onto every profile I made and it sounded like a terrible idea, so I tried deleting all my profiles to get it to revert but now that I open the browser it shows me to make a new Profile. So, I want to know how can I revert back to using Firefox Without the use of profiles like I was before clicking the pop-up
