When I went into Firefox Sync, I found that it was linked to my airport via its Mac address. I've removed it, but since then, my airport Mac Address is still listed under "Sync Options" and it comes up with all boxes checked (passwords, browsing, etc.) When I try to uncheck them and click "OK," it returns back to being checked next time that I look. Is this normal? Or if not, how does it happen? Thank you.

Hello, I noticed that a website which I've never visited (until I noticed it today) is listed in my 'Advanced' 'Network' preferences and even though I can temporarily remove it via the 'Clear Now' button, it later returns.

I've googled the issue and read bewildering lines of code, but I'm not so savvy to know where making those types of changes might lead!

I've got Firefox 33.1 on Mac 10.6.8 and hope someone in the Mozilla community may have a fix.

After I click View/Full Screen on the Firefox menu bar, I lose the main FF Menu bar. When I hit the esc key, the screen remains locked in full screen view mode. Then I have to reboot my computer to get back to the default FF menu and display mode.

Why doesn't the esc key work the way it works when I'm viewing videos in full screen mode?

Firefox used to keep me logged into the Hotmail.com email site (https://login.live.com), but now it always logs me off when I quit Firefox. I have clicked "Keep me logged in" on this page. I have set Security panel > checked Remember passwords for sites, and there is nothing in my Exceptions list. In Preferences > Privacy I have set Remember History so I accept all cookies. I am not using Private Browsing. There are two live.com cookies showing in my Firefox cookies list. But, when I look at Security > Saved passwords nothing that looks like a Live.com, Hotmail.com or MSN site is listed is there.

I can stay logged in after quitting and restarting the browser for another account I have in Hotmail using Safari 5.1.5.

Any suggestions as to how I can stay logged in to Hotmail with Firefox 11.0?

I asked this question in April, but it received only one useless response. Nothing has happened since then, while newer versions of Firefox have been released.

It runs without problem under Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer, but using Firefox newer than version 15, partially blank frames appear, making it hard to view the movie.

I first thought the problem was combined with Mac OS (mine is 10.6.8), but the same problem of blank frames is noted in Firefox 22 on Windows 7.

Therefore, I must conclude Firefox has started to screw up on Javascript since version 17 (or 16, which failed to be released.)

So, to developers, please check whatever changes were made in version 17 (or 16) as to how to handle Javascript movies.

So I Force Quit, open FF again, and delete half the tabs... then it locks up... so I delete half of the rest.... then it locks up... Maybe after several iterations I get lucky & it restores a couple tabs.

Ab-so-USELESS.

WHY CAN'T FIREFOX HANDLE THE RE-OPENING OF TABS WITHOUT CRASHING ITSELF !!!!!

QuickTime 7 and .mov files are saying they are corrupt at http://homework.sdmesa.edu/dgergens/chem100/math_basic_skills/math_basic_skills.html

This has never happened. These files have always displayed in FIREFOX!!!!!! Now the DON"T.

What is FIREFOX's problem????

MOV files display in Safari and Explore just fine.

Please HELP, this is KILLING ME. I am a professor of chemistry and need to have FIREFOX return to what it used to be, having my videos showing.

This is on a Mac I used the "Plugin check" to make sure all the plug-ins were up to date. It said the Java plugin needs to be updated. That takes me to the Java page, which says that Apple supplies its own version of Java and to use Apple Update. Apple update says the system is up to date.

The plugin checker should report an error only if the version of Java can be updated. It cannot be on a mac.

I have removed all logos from my bookmarks toolbar (which is way too complicated to do btw) Since installing the new Firefox, whenever I save an image from a site (which is part of my job) all these stupid logos pop-up in my bookmarkbar. When I quit and restart firefox they are gone, but as soon as I save another image they're back again.

I thought this was bc of that stupid animated download arrow you added in the toolbar but I have removed that and these stupid logos still reappear whenever I save an image.

Help would be much appreciated.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND PLUG INS THAT MUCH BUT WHEN I CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE UP TO DATE I GET A JAVA AND QUICK TIME THAT NEED TO BE DOWNLOADED, HOWEVER WHEN I CLICK ON IT TO DOWNLOAD IT DOESN'T IT JUST TAKES ME TO AN APPLE PAGE LIKE THE STORE FOR INSTANCE, DOES THIS MEAN I NEED TO PURCHASE THESE DOWNLOADS AND UPDATES ARE NOT AUTOMATIC?

On a Mac running OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) or Earlier, Plugin Check indicates both Java Applet Plug-In and QuickTime Plug-in are out of date.

Steps to Reproduce: Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins -> Check to see if your plugins are up to date

Results show: Java Applet Plug-in Update Now QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6 Update Now

Explanation: 1. Prior to OS X 10.7 (Mountain Lion) Apple provided Java. Apple has not provided an update. [java.com's update requires Mac OS X (10.7.3 version and above)] 2. There is no update to QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6 for some Macs; it is most recent for OS X 10.6.3 through 10.6.8.

Can Plugin Check be fixed? Can Macs get better support? (Some unaddressed bugs go back to Firefox 3.5 and before!)

The solutions I have read in the support forum for this problem are only for Windows. Please explain how to stop my Firefox browser ON MY MAC from opening a new tab as ask.com. It's extremely aggravating!!!!

Every web page with video / audio content begins to autoplay (at the vid's highest volume) approximately 5 seconds after opening the page. I could disable this in Safari and Chromium, but see no option to disable the 'Autoplay' feature in Firefox. Worse, there are no plug-ins or extensions available that will allow this to be done. If you have had success disabling this annoying 'feature' (it's not a 'bug,' right?), please advise how it was done so that I may rid myself of these annoying vids. Thanks in advance.

Firefox 4 will not run a Java app on my brokers website. It tells me I have a missing plugin and gives the option to download plugin. I try that then it says no suitable plugins were found and suggests I manual install java applet v. 1.4.1. This java version was last used in mac OS 10.4. I use OS 10.6. I note that Firefox 3.6 had this version embedded which allowed it to use the newer versions of Apple Java applets whereas Firefox 4 does not.

On a Mac Book pro - running 10.6.8

Firefox was fine until the last couple of updates that happened without my consent (?).

Suddenly there were weird errors and crashes of Flash and slow loading pages. Now it's gone into rubbish mode where the beach ball spins at the slightest fast type or double-click and then all i can do is force quit. It's as if it can't cope with anything anymore. How do i uninstall and keep my bookmarks etc and re-install an earlier version of it as it was before it got updated? Thanks

I've been using Firefox for many months to access my work email using Outlook Web Access (OWA). Clicking on an attachment always resulted in the file being downloaded intact (mostly pdfs and Word docs). Suddenly yesterday all file types result in the download of "attachment.ashx". I had not changed anything in Firefox. I restarted Ff and then my computer without effect. I then deleted and reinstalled Ff -- no change. Now in the applications window pdfs and docs aren't listed, but I can't get them in there anyway because they don't download as such. I am using Ff 8.0 on MacOS 10.6.8.
