firefox crashes on opening within seconds. this started suddenly a few weeks ago and despite several daily attempts, i still can't load firefox application. it crashes immediately upon startup every time no matter what and crash reporter arrives. i have researched all the articles and followed their suggestions. i installed the newest version of firefox and still get the same results. i can't even open firefox in safe mode.

The last SMS package I created for Firefox was 6.0.2 so my apology if this is old news. From what I understand user.js replaced mozilla.cfg? What about lockpref, is their an equivalence? I'm also a little puzzled as to how one is suppose to use "browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone" or "browser.shell.checkDefaultBrowser" within user.js when the location it's suppose to be in doesn't exist untill the application is executed. Am I missing something?

Question far too techie for me....I have several desktop short cut icons...Mostly those show up as the Mozilla Fox, which is fine, but alas, there are too many of the Firefox Icons, and i wanted to change some to the ACTUAL WEB SITE icon, or favicon. How can I find out how to do this? thanks!

No doubt Firefox browser is much better then MS IE9 which I used to use but the problem is in Firefox, I do not want to use Google search.

Question is how could I change Google search to any other nice search engine?

Please anyone reply and oblige.

I recently downloaded the add-on Bookmark All Tabs It is now in the Tools menu of Firefox. I want the option to be in the Bookmarks menu of Firefox. I have tried dragging but it doesn't work. Please tell me how to change it thank you

Just updated to FF9. I am no longer just disappointed, but ticked off that the the bug that causes Save As to remember where the last file was saved from individual sites instead of just where the last file was saved to has not been fixed. Why is this? How hard can it be to fix it?

For example, suppose I save an image from Motifake to Folder A and an image from ihasahotdog to Folder C. Then I go back to Motifake and save an image. Instead of Folder C, Save As opens to Folder A instead of Folder C. I direct Save As to save the image to Folder A. The I go back to ihasahotdog, save an image and instead of Folder A, Save As opens to Folder C.

Also, this bug happens with all filetypes, not just images.

FF's developers know that the "added feature" that started with FF7 that causes FF to remember the last download save folder based on the domain in the URL instead of using the last folder saved to annoys a lot of users both directly and with the lack of preference to turn it on/off. Yet they won't fix it.

Why can't they understand that no matter how much of a good idea they think it is, most users hate it and do not want it? And what's with this "It's being worked on" B.S.? They added it in one version update, why can't they take it out as quickly as it was added?

Using a webfont in a CSS, I discovered that FF9 renders wrong the ligatures "ff", "fi", "ffi" in that font, totally omitting them -- the word "office" becomes "oce" on screen.

I did set up test page, in the reference below, showing that behavior. The page shows correct with FF8, FF3.6, Chrome 16, Opera 11.60, IE 8.

since I update Firefox 8 I can't see the other pictures in this website, only I can see in ie explorer or using Firefox in my Mac, what I need to fix this problem?

I get this error on every page I go to, Connection closed by remote server. I can not connect to any web sites. Explorer works and so does my SlimBrowser. I have turned off my firewall, uninstalled my anti virus. Installed another one. Uninstalled FireFox and downloaded the latest version, no luck. I unistalled it again and wipe out all my favorites, settings and etc. I still won't go to even one wab site and I have tried a lot of them. It started a couple weeks ago, failing on a lot of sites, but would go to some. It seemed like every afternoon it got so it wouldn't go to any. But the next morning it would go to a few, then quit. Now it won't go to any. Any help would be appreciated.

I have talked to my service provider and they can't see anything wrong.

This began when business increased in January and our print jobs got big (printing invoices off the internet). It can print any small job no problem but if it's over 80 or so pages, it will stop and show a spooling error. I have done system restores and uninstalled firefox and then Internet Explorer will print the big jobs UNTIL I REINSTALL FIREFOX. Then the problem resurfaces whether using firefox or IE!!! Why?! I don't care why - how do I fix it? All 13 other computers use firefox and that is how my staff is trained. I hate IE.

My present Firefox is version 9.0.1 since update when I click on Back button after filling in web form or making online payment etc., I can't go back to my main page, if I press BACK BUTTON (arrow mark) a message says " Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier".

I do not want to re-order or repeat the process already finished. The only thing I can do is to exit Firefox and start again which is very painful.

Any solution will be appreciated.

I have streamed with Netflix on Firefox for a long time. I just prefer this browser over Safari. Last night I was told on the Netflix sight that I needed to upgrade my Silverlight plugin, so I did. Now it won't play on Firefox, but plays fine on Safari.

I'm using FP2003 and have made changes to many pages that have simple tables that are all centered in FP and after uploading these tables are all justified to the left when viewed in Firefox but in IE they look fine. I have had this site for many years and have well over a thousand pages with tables that I have changed numerous times in the past without issue.

"Google" is missing from left of the search bar, the search bar is not working, the information window is blank, the "Restore Previous Session" button is missing, and the Firefox/Google toolbar with g-mail, hot mail, maps, etc. is missing.

I can't scroll down while copying text on a web page. When my selection reaches the bottom of the page with my mouse it just won't go any further. This problem does not occur in any other app, or IE 8.
