This has started happening since the last Firefox upgrade (to 14.0.1). It affects two machines - one running Windows 7, the other XP. The symptoms are identical.

Firefox is the default browser on both machines. I'm using only a default profile on each machine. I've checked that there are no stray "no-remote" switches in the command line or environment variables and I've tried deleting "parent.lock". The fact that it has happened to two separate installations, as a result of the upgrade, and the fact that all other functions of Firefox work as expected, makes me doubt that it's a profile corruption. I have also tried opening Firefox in Safe Mode but the behaviour is the same.

Here's what happened/happens:

Previously, if I had opened Firefox in the normal way from the start menu and then clicked on a link in an email in Thunderbird, the link would open in a new tab in the running copy of Firefox. I could do this with multiple links, each opening a new tab.

Now, if I do this I get the "Firefox is already running" error box.

If I close Firefox the click on a link in an email in Thunderbird, it will start Firefox as expected, and open the link. But if I then click on a second link, I get the error message.

If I click on URLs in other applications (for instance Pidgin instant messenger), the links open in new tabs in the running Firefox in the usual way, so the problem seems to be specific to links opened in Thunderbird.

As an experiment, I rolled my FF installation back to 13.0.1 on the XP machines. Everything then worked as before, and as expected, so this is clearly to do with the upgrade.

Following auto-upgrade to Firefox 14, all the Firefox user interface strings are in Times New Roman pt 8 or 9 (way too small). I cannot change them any which way, I have tried Settings, no change (including restart and reboot). I have used the Restore function. No change.

System is Windows XP Pro.

I had a technician to clean and remove Babylon search from my computer and it still attached itself to whatever I'm doing. I uninstalled Mozilla fox at least five times , then re-installed. However, I cannot get rid of Babylon search. I spent $100 dollars to resolved this problem and it's not working. I handle high confidential files on my computer. I am afraid to open the file due to fear of information being compromised.

I uninstalled Firefox 10 because so unstable -wasted hours of time trying to get online & weird problems.

I reinstalled Firefox 9 & back to normal & works great.

ALSO - PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO UPDATE UNLESS YOU GIVE ME A OPTION NOT TO UPDATE.

If I try to download a pdf, using Save Link As, in a google search find (still on the google search page) it is always maned url.pdf, and has no size. Quite often it will also save as a 1K of thereabouts file, and not open Any help appreciated

Anytime I want to view a video from within Firefox (YouTube or other) I am not able to view it. With YouTube I get the message "Error occurred. Please try again later." Other videos just give a blank page. I checked my plugins, they are all up to date. I am using Firefox version 13.0.1. I don't have this problem when I use other browsers such as IE. Any help would be appreciated.

Since upgrading to Firefox 6 the option to "view source" is apparently no longer available (I used in in Firefox 5 only yesterday and am missing it already). Can it be made available please?

Hi Friends, I was just updated to 14.0.1 a day or 2 ago. It seems the icons on my navigation toolbar, which used to be black, have been changed to white w/black border.

What annoys me most of all, is why in the world do you waste your time on things like that.

But the most immediate problem is that some of the icons that I have on that navigation toolbar, cannot be seen against the Persona that I use. Apparently they use some transparency. The ones that are solid white, I can still see, but those with apparently a little transparency seem to have disappeared (except on mouseover, I do see a white square).

So my question is, do I have any control over those icons? Or will my only solution be to change the persona to a darker background?

I keep cleaning out my internet file, and deleating babylon but the dam thing keeps comming back. It is taking over my computer and I dont know how I got it in the first place. BUT want it out of here in a big way. TAKE ME BACK TO GOOGLE SEARCH!

I updated to Firefox 8.0 today and noticed my App Tabs aren't saved when I close Firefox.

I have set Firefox to open up my home page upon startup. Firefox 7 would open my home page along with any App Tabs from my previous session. Under Options>Privacy, I have set it to "Firefox will remember history". This problem also occurs when I have all my Add-ons disabled, so I am sure that's not what is getting in the way. Am I doing something wrong?

It is supposed to put the response in via innerHTML. It doesn't. Now IE8 works fine in this case.

The PEAR modules have in them the check for 'Gecko' to cover the bug found in earlier versions of FF.

Automatic updates have never worked on the PCs in my organization. We had to manually update from 13, to 13.0.1, to 14, to 14.0.1, to 15, to 15.0.1. Every time we have to go to "about firefox", at which point I can see it checking for and downloading the update, and then we can click "apply updates."

In the Firefox advanced options, under the update tab, we have had the following selected since 13 was released: -Automatically install updated -Use background service to install updates -automatically update search engines

This is happening on every machine in our system (about 80 of them), a mixture of XP machines and Windows 7 machines. We've allowed it through our firewall (McAfee SAAS), but it never automatically applies the update.

The update fails to apply automatically in both limited user and administrator accounts.

Since it is so widespread, I feel like there must be a simple reason while this is consistently failing on all our machines, but I'm finding virtually nothing else online suggesting others are having this problem.

I upgraded to Firefox 7 today, and now if I try to click in the empty space on the tab bar to the right of the current tabs I no longer get a new tab.

Is there a way to re-enable this feature?

My Firefox automatically updated to ver. 13.0. I don't see any of the new changes or features. I closed Firefox and restarted it but still no changes. How do I get the new features?

My son recently decided to re-install the entire computer and chose to synch up firefox. He first synched it and reinstalled windows 7, when he re-installed firefox and logged in using the decryption key everything seemed fine. I'm now missing: my history, my bookmarks (some very important work related ones) and every other setting. Is there a way to fix this?

I don't wanna firefox14 add 'www' prefix for me there lots of domain just using root domain "xxx.com" but not this type of "www.xxx.com"

I have spent hours and hours now trying to delete http://search.bearshare.net/?tag=newtab from my browser. I have done everything that is mentioned on the web, from unistalling bearshare, to doing the about.config to reinstalling firefox and it still remains. It is really driving me crazy now and may just have to delete firefox for good. Please help.

Flash doesn't show in ff 13.0 - no errors, just empty space. Right click on the space where flash is supposed to be doesnt show anything. In all other browsers everything's ok.

Firefox did an automatic update to 6.01, and now my middle mouse button is not working in the browser. It doesn't close tabs, it doesn't open new tabs by middle clicking a link, it doesn't allow me to middle click to scroll the page..
