I did a refresh in order to get Firefox 129 to speed up and lost a short cut or icon that would display my favorites in a column on left side of page and stay open until I closed them. This was extremely helpful if you have a list of sites you visit every day. The icon for this was an open book.

The latest updated to Firefox for Mac (125.0.2) has completely scrambled accessing my bookmarks. Before the update I could type T in the search bar and up popped the URL for The Globe and Mail; or N and the URL for the New York Times popped up. (This works because no other bookmark begins with these letters.) Both are in my Toolbar (no bookmarks have actually changed or disappeared with the update). Now when I type T, a completely different URL turns up, plus a drop-down menu of other URLs randomly selected from any of my bookmark lists IN WHICH A T APPEARS ANYWHERE in it; and when I type N, a website I've NEVER EVEN SEEN BEFORE (name.com) shows up, plus a drop-down menu with URLs from my bookmarks that contain an N anywhere in the URL. Why is this happening, and how to fix it? Please don't tell me I have to switch back to Safari.

i am setting up a new laptop and trying to import all my current data from my old pc. Nothing is right. It imported alll the shortcuts on my toolbar from years ago. None of these are the current bookmarks from my old pc. ive tried syncing, importing again, nothing works. my bookmarks on my side bar are years old. I dont have ANY of these on my old pc as i deleted them years ago. what the heck is happening and how do i get my new pc browser to look exactly as my old pc looks. This is very frustrating. I have over 500 bookmarks on my sidebar. it looks like every bookmark i have EVER used. This is ridiculous.

Currently unable to save, edit or add bookmarks.

I have updated Firefox, refreshed Firefox, gone through Troubleshoot mode, cleared the startup cache, and deleted the "xulstore.json" in my profile folder.

Pls help this is driving me nuts + making me want to switch browsers. Thanks : )

I have a problem. I have seen that there have been discussions about this in the past. Unfortunately I have not found a solution and the discussions are all archived.

Now to the problem: Various pages have no favicon in Firefox when I drag them into the bookmark bar as a bookmark. However, when the page is active in the tab, a favicon is visible there.

The problem does not seem to be unique to me. Several people have tested it. It also seems to be a problem in Firefox only. In other browsers, this problem does not occur.

What can website owners do to fix this problem?

I've been using the same firefox (installed every update) for over 10 years now and a lot of bookmarks have been accumulated. They are from different sources for different reasons/subjects/interests etc... I think when I reached ~430.000 or something like that it really slowed firefox down in a way that even clicking on a folder in the "bookmark symbol bar" (the one underneath the URL address fiel) takes 2-3 sec to open up and show the containing bookmarks. In the bm-manager going from one folder to another also takes a few seconds. I've now deleted about 40.000 but no change it's still lagging. and deleting 1000 takes about 1h.

I've looked but so far I couldn't find another tool or a better way to manage all these URLs WITH their title.

I still want to keep them, but managing them has become so slow and tedious. So if you have any suggestions especially for other tools to manage them....

I also think the possibility to export only a part of them (selected ones, or specific folders) would be helpful; maybe also a tool to clean up the database? (like defrag did for harddrives?). or split it to differnt files? I don't know.

I know 400.000 bookmarks are extreme... but well....

The bookmarks disappeard on the toolbar or in the library even though the sites that were previously bookmarked are still marked with the blue star. Comically it still shows my recent additions even though they are nowhere else to be found.

On mobile the bookmarks are still there but resynching, reinstalling, restarting didn't work.

When i want to bookmark the disappeared ones again, they won't be saved and are gone again the next time I start the browser.

It's really annoying, I had a lot of them and I don't want to use desktop shortcuts or use another browser but I might just have to.

previously I added bookmarks to a menu bar at top of firefox. Now I have a bar that displays 2 bookmarks than a >>. I cannot expand this limited display or create a menu to display bookmarks though I can see them by clicking on the >>. Non of the menu suggestions is a fix.

Does anyone know how to control this and get me a more useful bookmarks menu display?

I want to export my bookmarks from a Linux laptop to a Windows 11 laptop. Can they be sync'd? I have tried the instructions from CoPilot on the new Windows machine, but not getting anywhere.

What happened to it? When it was deleted? Why? Is there a way to restore it?

With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. Is it possible to import bookmarks for a different Mozilla account. Apparently I have 2 different Mozilla accounts. I had been using (I'll call it account #1) for quite a while, and recently subscribed to Mozilla VPN service. When I subscribed i gave it login info for "Account #2". How can I keep the logon info for the VPN, and get my bookmarks imported from the old (routinely used account #1) ? Or, can I change the VPN service to the old account (account #1)? I know how to add another device to the VPN account, but the "accounts" are on the same "device".

To upload/import bookmarks into Firefox, the file extension of JSON is required. However from old crashed computer, I exported bookmarks in Excel. Please help. Thanks

This morning, I was unable to log into Discord to watch a livestream because my hard drive was overfull and it was unable to install a mandatory update. Because this was a time sensitive issue, I wiped a bunch of crap off my drive as fast as I could, and I guess somehow I deleted my browser bookmarks because the field now shows as empty when I open Firefox. I was able to track down the backup file, but it throws an error when I tell it to restore. Is there anything I can do about this?
