Where are all the tabs for the research I was working on? I stepped out of my office for a few minutes and returned to a very proud message declaring that Firefox had auto updated and now better than ever. Only all my tabs are gone. Why does every other browser save and restore tabs when updating, but not Firefox??? Do I have to go back to Safari or Chrome? This cannot happen!!!

I am afraid to update to Firefox 124 for fear of losing the existing order of 100s of open tabs if the default setting of ordering tabs by "Recently Opened" kicks in before I have a chance to change the setting to "Tab Order". Can anyone help me? I'd like to upgrade to 124 if I can do so safely!

I use the latest FF for MacOS.

When I "close" Firefox by clicking the red cross in the top left corner of the window, I lose all open tabs when I start again despite having the option of restoring the previous session checked. When I "close" the whole thing (right click on FF in the Dock, Quit, and then re-open), all my tabs are back normally.

So basically every time i click this red cross, by mistake or not, I lose anything that's open.

Feels like I did not have this issue before.

Anyone has a workaround or experiences a similar issue?

Everytime I try to open a tab on my Firefox window, it loads for a second before a blank screen saying that my tab has crashed. The only times I can open a new tab is on a private window.

In my location, my only option for internet access is a mobile hotspot with limited data. Consequently, I am always mindful of my data usage when using my laptop. Despite primarily browsing static pages, email, and other low-data activities, I often find my data usage higher than anticipated. The main culprit comes to mind to be videos embedded in news articles. Sometimes, with multiple tabs open, I switch to an inactive tab only to find a video playing. Although I've configured my Firefox preferences not to autoplay videos, it seems that YouTube videos still override these settings.

So, my question is, when a tab is inactive, does Firefox stop all data transfer for that tab in the background? And if not, what are the solutions to stop any background data other than continually closing all tabs?

Also, any suggestions on this topic are appreciated, especially from and to users who also live in remote areas without fiber, DSL, etc.

My Firefox window with 15+ tabs just crashed. I watched a YouTube video and the solution offered doesn't work. How can I restore them? And does Firefox really not have a way to speak to a human being??

Have I been hacked?? Restore Session not even avail on Menu bar. No computer crash or electric failure in last 24 hrs, but not a single one of my tabs are still open on my browser (30+) and no tab/page option as usual asking if I want to Restore my Session. What the !*& happened to my months of tabs? I do/did have the correct settings selected for Tabs to be restored. Oh MY GOD --this is a complete nightmare!! I'm the only user on this home desktop Mac. I can't figure out what setting to fix this: every time I click to open a new window, about 35 tabs automatically open up that I have closed several times in the past. I simply want one new window without any previously opened tabs.

I've tried:

• clearing my entire search history several times
• shutting down Firefox and reopening (which opens up all those tabs)
• uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it
• initiating the latest Firefox updates
• restarting my computer
• turning my computer on and off
• looking through every single preference in my Firefox settings (I've unchecked anywhere it talks about opening tabs)
• reading various articles on Firefox's support page and on other support websites to try to figure this out (there's little info on this problem; the support is mostly about how to save previously opened tabs

Please help! I'm tired of having to close down all these tabs every single time I have to restart my computer or have to shut down Firefox. It slows down everything I'm trying to do.

I had several windows open each with different tabs in them.

I shut down them down and switched off my Mac.

On restarting my Mac, one of the windows had disappeared from the restore session. I've checked my History but the tabs don't appear there.

I'm using the latest version of FF on a Mac Air M2

Please advise.
