I changed my language from Arabic and back, and now I see a little line attached to my cursor within all web pages that I visit, that I believe was added as a result of my language change to Arabic and then back. I have attached screenshots of what a normal cursor looks like vs what my cursor in firefox looks like now. I have not had this happen before today when I have switched between languages in the past. It looks normal within the Firefox address bar, but not within text boxes within web pages.

My current language settings are set to US English, but I keep the others as alternates to switch back and forth between.

I have downloaded additional dictionaries to spell check when I'm writing in other languages on the firefox browser, yet I am unable to switch to those dictionaries. I've tried multiple. I have cleared caches. I have restarted. I have installed and uninstalled. I have the latest version.

They simply do not work. I work in multiple languages and would love to continue to use Firefox has my default browser.

Firefox 139.0.1 on W11

When I open a page in a foreign language, such as English in my case, I don’t have access to a translation module. Yet this feature exists in Firefox, but I don’t understand why the translation isn’t being offered.

When I search for "Translation" in the Settings, I do find this translation module. I’ve downloaded all the languages and restarted my browser.

When I click on the Settings button for this module (see screenshot), in the section “Translations will be done automatically for the following languages,” I can't add any language there.

Despite this, when I go back to a web page in a foreign language, like a news article in English, I still don’t see the translation icon in the address bar.

Can you help me resolve this issue? Can I provide any additional information to help?

Hello, why is there no Chinese language package in the built-in translation, or is there a way to solve this? Looking forward to your reply. I hope my poor English won't cause you any misunderstandings.

I can't no more change the language in my settings. I have allways thie message : « Firefox can’t update your languages right now. Check that you are connected to the internet or try again. » Why ? Thank you. Best's

Have new W11 laptop. Installed Firefox and have set it to my default browser but if I use the search box it opens the results in Edge. Where is the setting to enable W11 search box to use Firefox.

I have encountered an issue on some websites where the Japanese text is using the font "Microsoft YaHei" when it should be using "Meiryo." Some examples are on the website bluesky, and bold text on Twitter such as in usernames.

I originally thought it was an issue on my end or in Windows, but when checking other programs and websites such as dengekionline and the non-bold text on Twitter it is using the correct font which I have confirmed via the inspector under the font section. When starting Firefox in safe mode it seems to use the correct font on the previously mentioned websites, so I disabled all my extensions and themes and this did not resolve the issue. I did a Firefox Refresh and this also did not resolve the issue.

I am not familiar with the intricacies on the Firefox about:config to really delve into the exact cause, so I ended up just reverting back to Firefox 134. On Firefox 134 with my same extensions previously the font is now back to Meiryo as it should be which leads me to believe it is something that was changed in Firefox 135. One thing I am considering is that the Japanese text is being recognized as Simplified Chinese by Firefox 135 as Simplified Chinese uses the Microsoft YaHei font as a default.

I have attached some photos that shows my Japanese font settings, and the same post by a user one on Firefox 135 which is using Microsoft YaHei and another on Firefox 134 which is using the correct Meiryo. I have also tried disabling the "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above" and then restarting on 135, but this did not resolve the issue. I am using Firefox 128.5.0esr (64-bit) on Debian 12. This is the browser that comes installed with the system. Recently, an offline translation feature was added to Firefox. In settings, you can download various languages. I would like to know where language models for offline translation are stored. The downloaded languages I want to copy to another computer without internet connection so that I can use the offline translation on this computer.

The Russian language is not listed in the "To" part when I want to translate a page. Although it IS listed if the page is in Russian, so it suggests to translate from Russian to some other language. The language is installed in settings.
