For about the last 2 months, when I either get a notification that an update is available or I manually check for updates, both Firefox and Thunderbird are stuck in "Downloading updates -- 0 bytes" on 2 Windows 11 computers. Eventually, like a half an hour to an hour later, the update downloads and I can install the update. This has been going on for 2 months now. As a 20 plus year user of Mozilla and also a long-time financial contributor, this problem going on for 2 months is getting old. And yes, I have checked my antivirus and firewall. Is Mozilla aware of the problem and is there a solution?

Firefox suddenly and inexplicably started asking for my primary password twice when I start the browser. I am not in sync enabled mode. When I cancel the primary password request twice Firefox behaves normally. It does this even after I disable extensions and it does it when I start Firefox in troubleshooting safe mode. My other computer is not doing this.

I also cannot upload images using Firefox to Messenger. The large purple image is a result of an upload, but it should be a picture of a woman saved from Krita.

I tried a setting called "Refresh Firefox" and that fixed it but only for less than a day. whats going on?

Since the latest update to my Firefox, videos (for example, in documents such as surveys) either do not load or they freeze. And in some streaming applications, either they play with no sound or when sound is turned on the video freezes. This was never a problem until recently. iMac desktop (2017) Ventura 13.7.4 Firefox 136.0.2 (64 bit) The same issue does not occur on Safari or on my iPad (using Firefox). Any advice?? Thanks.

Hello. This question concerns the Windows 11 desktop version of Firefox.

I have long used the Home and End keys on my extended keyboard to scroll to the very top of any given page in Firefox (Home) or to the very bottom of that page (End).

But, lately, I notice that, for no reason I can figure out, Firefox no longer responds to those shortcuts. Now, when I tap Home or End, the page may, at first, scroll up or down slightly but not to the top or bottom. If I press Home or End again, nothing happens at all.

Sometimes, if I press Ctrl + Home simultaneously or Ctrl + End the page will scroll to the top or bottom respectively.

Why has Firefox's behavior apparently changed? Is there an issue with my keyboard or operating system settings? (I use a Logitech G915 keyboard.)

Please let me know how to restore Firefox's shortcut functionality, where I can tap just Home to scroll to the top of a page or only End to scroll to the bottom of a page.

Trying to browse ebay using Firefox. The pages have become really slow when loading.When scrolling down the page is blank then slowly populates as I scroll down the page. I've just tried microsoft edge and there is no problem.

Hello, when I browse the internet, randomly the certificates seem to break as I get https certificates for sites that seem to have nothing to do with the sites that i intend to visit. Then errors like the ones in the screenshots appear. Usually reloading the website helps and then the certificate displayed seems to be correct. I did make sure to upgrade to the latest version of FF (136.0) and I did clear all cookies, but it didnt help. I do not really have any idea where to start searching or what might cause this, tia for help. kind regards Thomas

I am worried.

For some reason I am not logged into one of my local pages - which needs a log in.

So I go to the "settings" and go to privacy and to the "saved passwords".

This takes me to another screen (see attached) and no matter how many times I press the "LOG IN" (near the top) nothing happens.

I factory reset my pc and i logged back in to my firefox account and all my saved log ins and book marks are gone did i loose them for ever or is there a way to get them back?

I am looking for a solution that will allow links to open in the same tab rather than tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab. I am also having issue with sign ins opening a new blank tab and not having the ability to sign in at all. I've been using Firefox since I quit Netscape. And yes, I tried many epic fails that were disguised as solutions that don't work. I'm seriously about to give up on this browser if I can't get what I had after a SSD drive fail that forced me to reinstall from the ground up.

My search engine has stopped working. I just get blank pages when I enter any subject in the search bar. I am forced to open a private window which always works without issues. Closely related to this problem I believe, is the fact that any online forms I try to complete and submit will not submit. Again if I copy and paste the address into a private window, I can complete and submit without any issues.

It is getting very frustrating to keep having to go private windows.

When I open a new tab, it opens fine, I get all the articles as per normal. But when I enter my search criteria I get nothing (see attached screenshots)

Every time I open Firefox, it prompts me for my Primary Password immediately. Skipping the dialog the first time opens a second, identical dialog. It's not being caused by any add-on/extension, because the problem occurs in exactly the same way in Troubleshoot Mode. It's not Sync, because I'm not signed into any Mozilla account. An internet search showed me a page here indicating I should disable Primary Password, then re-enable it. This didn't fix the problem.

When I log into my modem it sends me a banner notification my "version of Mozilla Firefox is unsupported. Your gateway's web interface has been tested to work with a minimum version of 63.0.3. You may proceed with an unsupported version." However, when I am in my browser, and select Help--> About Firefox--> it shows I am on version 136.0.4 and up to date. When I access my modem, why does my modem say my browser is out of date when it isn't? Does my modem have a different browser version from my computer, and if so, how do I update that? Firefox Desktop (x64) worked normally until the version 135 update was installed. Now tabs (even a single tab) crash after startup unless Firefox is run in troubleshooting mode or Windows 8 compatibility mode. OS is Windows 10 Pro (x64) 22H2 on ThinkPad E495 (AMD Ryzen 5 3500U) Things that haven't resolved the problem: - Remove extensions and themes - Refresh Firefox - Reinstall Firefox - Updating Visual C++ 2015-2022 with Redistributable (x64) version 14.42.34438 - Updating Firefox to version 135.0.1 and subsequently to version 136.0, however updater only works in Windows 8 compatibility mode - Full system scan for malware (none found) Note: Extensions NoScript and Cookie AutoDelete work normally with Firefox running in Windows 8 compatibility mode.

None of my saved passwords in my Mozilla account are showing up when I switch laptops and try to logon to various sites. Instead I have to manually enter the passwords for the sites every time even though the sites show that I have saved passwords for that site in my Mozilla account. When I type the password in a old or new site, Mozilla doesn't even ask if I want to save the password anymore.

I use a hotkey for the screen-capture program "Snagit". The hotkey is: CTRL-SHFT-P

However, it now seems that also the AI-search program "Perlexity" uses the same hotkey.

Where can I remove the shortkey for Perplexity?

I updated yesterday to Windows 11. Following that update,I had a few difficulties getting Firefox up & running. It seems to be OK now except for the Firefox icon appearing twice on my taskbar when I switch on my computer. Is there an easy solution? I am not technically skilled. Thanks for any guidance.

How to add translation icon to the toolbar? The toolbar does not show the translation icon and Manage Toolbar does not show an icon for it. I am running Firefox 136.0 on Windows 10 Pro.
