Weather I am accessing my account or trying to play any game I am getting a message---part of Firefox is crashing. How can this be fixed Thanks. Augustine Samuels [edited email from public]

Attempted to do an Firefox update more than a month ago on my HP (microsoft windows) computer. Everytime I open my computer I gt the Firefox Crash Reporter Window. When I hit the Quit firefox box it submits the crash report and then I X out the box. I cannot use Firefox as a browser. The DISASTER is that I CANNOT open any files previously downloaded while using Firefox (eg PDF files). I get the crash report box. I NEED these files!

Please HELP!

I am Firefox ((firefox-esr (128.14.0esr-1~deb13u1)) using Debian 13 with i3wm and XFCE for some weeks now. I switched from Endeavour OS were I had the same issue: Firefox crashes multiple times a day. I tried several things: started Firefox without add-ons, with a new profile, fresh install, deleted cookies and history. But still Firefox crashes all the time, very frustrating. What could be the reason for this? I'd be glad for any leads.

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. I notice so I am not sure what is causing it to crash it could be ublock origin as I use that to block ads on youtube that is the only thing I can think of or maybe the return dislike button but here is my crash report below ID bp-8f27f4a1-7ed0-492e-823d-e57af0250304

pc specs CPU 14900k Intel Core I9 Power supply EVGA 1600W Ram Memory 64gb DDR5 corsair STORAGE 1TB samsung 980PRO GPU RTX 5090 FE OS WINDOWS 11 Newest Version 3H I think

I always use the middle mouse button (pressing the scroll wheel) to open and close new tabs, but since the update, it doesn't work anymore and now types "=" if the cursor is in a text field. For context, I use an MX Master S3, mapped with Logi Options+.

Anyone else having this issue? How do I roll back to the previous version??

SOLVED: It was a bug with Logi Options+, not Firefox. When I hovered over the tab for the presets I had for CaptureOne, I noticed it also said Firefox. So seems something weird happened there. Deleted that preset and the issue in Firefox went away.

I couldn't find a way to delete this thread, though.

The browser keeps crashing. I want to remove it from my Win 10 computer but uninstall only lets me do a refresh. I need to remove it to see if it is Firefox or some other issue. How do I remove the software?

I've done all the troubleshooting I could find, including: Uninstalling, tried using beta ff, disabled hardware acceleration, disabled/removed all extensions, memtest, updated various drivers. Still frequent tab crashes Tried two other browsers and neither of those had any issues. No crashing on edge or duckduck.

Crash reason seem to be mostly EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ and EXCEPTION_BREAKPOINT

Issue started a few month ago, tabs crashing 10+ times each day.

All my crash reports says "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ" but i dont know what is causing it, happens on multiple different pages

have many more crash reports, but dont know if that would help

When I close a video site tab, Firefox freezes and becomes unresponsive. After restarting Firefox from a force quit, I sometimes see a message like: “Bookmarks may not be visible or things may not look normal. Another instance of Firefox is running.” (I don’t remember the exact wording.) In that case, my bookmarks look like they are missing. If I close Firefox again and restart it, the bookmarks reappear, but I am logged out of every site and have to add all my accounts again from the beginning.

This means I have to log back into every single account again, like YouTube and others, which is very inconvenient.

I’ve been using Firefox for over 10 years, and I’ve never experienced this problem before. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it occurs periodically — sometimes every few days, sometimes every few weeks. This never used to happen in the past.

Please, I really need help with this issue. If I back up my cookies beforehand, would restoring them after such a crash bring everything back to normal?

Since updating to version 135 all the tabs crash. I've uninstalled\reinstalled, deleted app data, disabled AV and created a new profile. The only time it works is in troubleshooting mode. I've looked at extensions and plugins and I'm only seeing OpenH264 video codec and Widevine content decryption. I've disabled those but still get the crashed tabs.

I'm also not generating any crash logs.

Hey, I've been experiencing my YouTube and Twitch tabs crashing almost every 20-40 minutes and it's been kind of annoying.

Does anyone know if the crashes are because of my drivers or Windows not being up to date? Never had this issue with Opera before.

Can you guys check why your netflix account is getting logged out every time regardless of how many times you logged in and for prime video if you play any video i'm getting video player error, can you please check

I keep having an issue on my desktop of every new tab I open crashing. I can access the homepage, but if I put anything into the search bar, the screen goes to "Gah. Your tab just crashed. We can help! Choose Restore This Tab to reload the page." And when I try to restore the page, it brings me back to that screen again. I couldn't even access Mozilla Support on my desktop to report this, I am on this site through my phone.

Hello Just reinstalled windows, new browser, frequent crashes while downloading big files from googledisc What should i check?

Over the past few weeks, tabs keep crashing several times a day. It happens most often on X, but this morning, a tab crashed while completing an online order (grrr). My computer is up to date, cookies, cache and history cleared regularly and today I "refreshed" Firefox. In less than an hour, tab crashed again. What is going on???

I'm very close to changing browsers.

1. i believe ur updating crashes my window 11 desk top

 2. While i'm watching youtube, doing word processing (.txt) or when i set the PC to 'Sleep' mode,
     my screen either freezes w the display or turns black.  In both cases, my mouse and keyboard
     won't work.  Thus, i have to re-boot to fix.  Even Control-Alternate-Delete won't work to get out

 3.  Request not to keep on showing your pop-up window at top RH corner saying:

      Update Available

      Download the latest ...

     <Download> <Dismiss>

    Hey, either one of those two buttons won't stop blocking my top RH corner of the screen.  It's rediculous.
    Even after i hit <Download>, the same pop-up shows up again n again.  Same w <Dismiss>.

    Just remind me once per week.  And don't crash my PC!!!

4. There is no 'Community' info on this annoying update pop-up problem. Just stop it!

I have been getting this error for about a week - absolutelyu no changes have been made to my usual use of the PC and browser. There may have been Firefox/Windows updates installed. I'm not doing anything different to the usual work I do.

I have tried using a new Firefox profile with no cached info carried over, this doesn't solve the problem. I have no extensions or add ons. I do run Avast, but haven't had this problem before.
