12/12/24 - netflix says i need to upgrade firefox browser in order to watch vis, but running MOST current version (115.18.0esr). Mac OS 10.12.6 . need help fixing issue. thanks

I have just installed Firefox on a new iMac, running MacOS 15.2. Firefox will not load any of the websites I have tried, whereas Safari and Chrome do. I have cleared the History and also set "No proxy" but loading still fails.

I have been unable to use Firefox for Gmail for several years now. I use Chrome instead, because whenever I try it on Firefox, I get the following message: Do you really want to use HTML Gmail? You're about to use a version of Gmail designed for slower connections and legacy browsers. To get all of Gmail's features, including inbox categories, images and quick actions, please use the latest version of Gmail (recommended). When I click on the box marked Take me to the latest version, absolutely nothing happens. If I click on the box for the HTML version, Gmail appears, but devoid of anything resembling Gmail as we know it now. Much as I want to use Firefox for everything, I can't, because this is a serious limitation. Am I alone with this problem? It has happened on two different laptops (Macbooks).

On my phone, both passwords from Firefox and iCloud auto fill into my browser, but on Mac I do not see anything besides the Firefox ones. I keep my most up-to-date passwords in iCloud, but would love to use auto fill in Firefox as I am not a fan of Safari. Is there a way to set this up?

Hi, By accident I changed a setting somewhare and now I can't share screen when using Google meets. I use a MacBook Air M2 2022 and run version Ventura 13.4 and Firefox version 113.0.2. I have googled the problem and had help from Apple support so I have already; - checked settings in my Mac - checked settings in Google Meet - deleted cash memory in Firefox - rebooting my computor - run Google Meet in Safari and screen sharing works

I don't dare to reinstall Firefox because then I will lose lots of data. What have I not done that this community could help me understand.

I'm running Firefox browser 88.0 (64) bit, and have been trying since before Xmas to upgrade it to a newer version. It's installed on an older Dell laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (which I've also tried repeatedly to upgrade without success).

I've tried to upgrade both through the UI, but also tried using the command line in Terminal. Per advice in other threads, I've found the best mirror site and changed my settings to use that, but still no luck. Even the preliminary "sudo apt update" via Terminal fails; the first error tells me that the public key is not available. I assume that's the place to start, but don't know how to correct it.

I'm up against the deadline for updating my browser, and would very much appreciate any help you can provide. (Please note that I'm posting from a newer computer, so automatically generated info about my system won't apply. See the screenshots for that info).

Hi all, I'm having an issue that I've seen mentioned over several years and without a workable solution - I'm at the point of having to transfer all my browser usage to chrome and abandon my beloved firefox. The issue has been 'answered' by advanced users to tell people to 'inspect' which font is the issue then check local systems font book for corrupted/duplicate fonts: however this is not a satisfactory response. Context: see screen shot attached for what the jibberish looks like, and a point in the 'inspect' view that I believe (guessing) is involved. System: Firefox 112.0.2 (64-bit), MacOS 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) on Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2020, 2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5). This same websites do not have any issue on the same computer viewed on Chrome or Safari. Nor is there any problem on my iPhone on the iOS firefox browser.

Firstly this is not a user-friendly solution for most people, I'm afraid. Opening the inspect viewer is mindboggling for anyone who doesn't code and even for people who do some programming but not for websites (like me), it isn't exactly self-explanatory. I think I've managing to find examples that indicate 'Roboto' seems to be consistently involved in the display issue. Secondly, the step for 'fixing' the font that is the culprit - my local system indicates that all fonts are valid and there are no duplicates. I haven't installed manually Roboto as I'm uncertain where to 'safely' get the font from and my computer is owned and managed by my workplace - with overly strict administration/security rules so if I f-up a download of something dodgy my IT service will blacklist me and revoke my admin access... ** which would mean I'd be unable to do my job!**. I wondered if perhaps there is some security setting due to that, which stops website from loading the fonts they choose? From previous 'solutions' it said that having Firefox preference set to "allow websites to choose their own fonts..." should mean the websites can load as needed. If indeed I must manually download fonts for each and every instance that Firefox fails to display text legibly that is equivalent to Firefox being unusable. I'm clearly frustrated and it's because I love FIrefox and the ethos behind it all so leaving for Chrome would be very sad indeed! Help and a solution for normal users would be so very much appreciated. Also where can I properly lodge this issue with peeps who fix things? There are issues of this kind going back years and for both Windows and Mac Systems so it's not a one-off problem but a recurring one! All of a sudden I am not able to download files on my MacbookPro in Firefox. I am using Version 126 on Mac OS 12.7.5 Monterey.

Downloads are working if I use Safari, but I do not use it. I just used it for testing purposes. Is anybody else having this problem? I've already "refreshed" Firefox per their suggestion.

I have lost my "home" icon so have to close and reopen or check history to go to my start page. Also, I can't play You Tube videos at the moment. The little house icon is missing. See screen shot.

I contacted Apple and they couldn't fix Firefox not working on my MacBook Pro (error: page can’t be displayed, server error). This started after I upgraded to iOS Sequoia 15.0. I disabled my VPN and also reinstalled the Firefox app and it is still not working. Apple says Mozilla may need to release a new update. Please advise what you or I can do to fix the issue. Note: I can access the Firefox page using Safari and Edge so it’s not an internet connection issue.

I’ve been using Firefox on my Mac without any issues, but I recently had to erase and reset my Mac. After reinstalling Firefox and attempting to sign in to my account, I am unable to sync my data.

When I click “Sign in” and enter my password, I successfully log in. However, it immediately returns to the message “Please sign in to reconnect,” and I am unable to proceed with syncing.

This is the first time I’ve encountered this issue.

On a positive note, I can still see my organized bookmarks on Firefox for iPhone, which were synced from my Mac before the reset.

Hi there, Zoom meetings used to open via the Firefox browser (e.g., you get a zoom invite via email, click on the link, it opens a page in firefox that says "Launch Meeting." But now it doesn't work. Nothing happens. Why? At one point Firefox put up a message that asked me to choose something and I did, and after that, it never worked again.

I can get into my zoom meetings using their meeting number and password through the zoom app, but it's more convenient to just click on their link in emails and open it within the browser.

Help please. Thanks in advance. I am using MacOS HighSierra 10.13.6, i cannot go any higher on this older mac. Firefox version is 115.7.0 esr

By the way, this version of Firefox allows me to use the internet without messages from websites telling me my browser needs upgrading. For ex., google chrome browser will not update anymore on HighSierra and my banking website and others do not perform properly with Chrome. But they are ok with Firefox. So thanks for this.
