I usually download and install manually the custom install of Firefox on Windows.

Recently, a new version was automatically installed without my permission and destroyed all my customization. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I had to restore the older version from backup and I was going to stop updating.

But I see that the manual custom installation is still available for download.

I want to make sure that if I use it it will not wipe out my customization again.

Please confirm.

I cannot even download firefox because im getting an error message " cannot create temp archive folder" It wont even launch the install files. Something orgininally happened to firefox on my computer because i wasnt able to download anything with the browser download manager. I need help

i SET UP THUNDERBIRD ON MY NEW COMPUTER, SUCCESSFULLY, BUT THREE DAYS AGO MY WEB HOST/SERVERS UPGRADED THEIR SYSTEM. i SPENT THREE DAYS SORTING OUT NEW SETTINGS. CONFIGURATIONS, PASSWORDS, ETC, TO GET IT ALL WORKING, IT WAS DIFFICUL BUT IT NOW WORKS. HOWEVER, I HAVE MANY FOLDERS OF MAIL ,AND MAIL NOT IN FOLDERS, IN THEUNDERBIRD ON AN OLDER COMPUTER. i WANT TO IMPORT THOSE FOLDERS OF MAIL, AND ADD THEM TO MY NEW COMPUTER THUNDERBIRD INBOX SET UP, BUT I DO NOT WANT TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AGAIN!" THAT COULD BE A DISASTER. I JUST WANT THE MAIL AND THE FOLDERS. ALL THE VIDEOS i SEE ARE TO IMPORT THE OLD SETTINGS AS WELL. CAN I JUST EXPORT/IMPORT THE ACTUAL MAIL FOLDERS AND MAIL, AND NOT SABOTAGE MY HARD WORK BY CHANGING ALL THE NEW SETTINGS AND PASSWORDS BACK TO WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN THE PROCESS?? Hello, I have problem with firefox. When I try download from facebook page files .docx, .xlsx (Microsoft Office) Firefox automatically download it as PDF and file is broken. I don't know how to repair this. Please help, it is very frustrating.

I have had the option "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" selected for some time, because when FF auto-updates my system becomes unstable. Despite that version 126.0.1 (64-bit) was automatically installed. Which I only found out about because after causing FF to freeze, and basically crashing the work I was doing, and forcing me to kill the task with task manager, I get the "FF is installing your update and will start in a few minutes" at restart.

After looking thru the help forums I have set app.update.background.enabled and app.update.background.scheduling.enabled to false. (They were both true despite the setting selected.)

Two things:

1. I DO want to be notified when updates are available. I just don't want them to happen at your convenience. Will I still be notified of updates with these config parameters set to false?

2. If you have a setting that says "Don't Update" and I select that option, you should not update. There is clearly a problem somewhere.

(Windows reinstall via Microsoft's cloud reset "save my data" option specified... though some stuff got wiped out due to hard drive issues)

I always had one version of Firefox installed. I regularly update the software via Help >> About Still, after every update, I am getting multiple versions of Firefox listed at [Settings/Installed Apps] and [Control Panel/Uninstall or remove apps] on my Win11 23H2 22631.3593 (screenshot attached).

In order to get rid of outdated items from the list, I need to reinstall Firefox completely, but the same thing is happening with every update of Firefox.

Is there a way to resolve this and why is this happening?

Remove the hackers and make my internet private change my DNS and VPS number or whatever they are doing to my make my google account and business because it's a house and private. Get them no access to my password or phone number

Hello, Recently I was migrated from Cox email to Yahoo mail and had to change my setting on Thunderbird. The emails work fine, but there seems to a lot of missing folders. I tried to look for the latest backup file, but it does not exist. The latest backup I have is of the year 2022.

Kindly assist me in retrieving my lost folders.

p.s I have searched for the folders under the default profile section but they do not exist.

As title- Cannot download for example webm format, but jpg is okay. cannot install any addon, theme or anything. DRM didnt install as well. i was trying reinstall, refreshing browser, rebooting.

I restarted my Windows 11 laptop and got error message about user profile. Restarted again and looks like it was corrupted so deleted my my user profile and Firefox config and bookmarks are gone!

Still have all the files just a new user profile and the old one is gone?

Any help how to get Firefox bookmarks back would be much appreciated

I installed Thunderbird a few weeks ago and I'm now trying to migrate from Windows Live Mail 2012 (WLM) to Thunderbird (TB). I am connected to a server called Copper..net via IMAP. (I've set up 2 other email accounts under TB, one of which I will almost certainly abandon and the other, I hope, will become my default server. But right now, I'm not really using either).

Most of my emails -- I have over 300,000 -- are stored in local folders. When mail comes into my Inbox, I generally either delete it, mark it as junk, or once read, store it in a local file.

Until yesterday, all of my IMAP folders showed up under the Copper.net account. They also showed up when I went to File subscribe and refreshed the list (other than one episode which I was able to resolve). Now, they don't show up in either place. They still do show up normally in the other accounts.

Since installing Thunderbird, I have managed to transfer most of my local emails from WLM to TB, so I am now down to 3 of my largest folders, containing between 60,000 and 65,000 emails each. Two days ago, I was able to transfer one of them, albeit with considerable difficulties along the way.

My method was to set up a new IMAP folder called Transfers. I COPY emails from the WLM folder to it (in chunks for larger folders). Then MOVE the emails from the TB Transfers folder to the TB local folder.

When everything is working properly, that move eventually results in the TB transfer folder being empty, which then results in the WLM transfer folder being empty. And then I can restart the process.

If for some reason, the move does NOT empty the transfer folder, I do so manually by deleting all the emails and then emptying the trash. I then check properties to make sure that the folder is really empty, and if it isn't, use the tools under properties in WLM to manually delete them

Yesterday, when I tried to do all this again for my 2nd large folder, I found that the transfer box in TB a) often didn't contain all the emails it should have and b) that the ones that showed up as being there wouldn't move at all. I tried compacting, repairing, getting messages, all to force syncing , but nothing worked.

And this morning, things went from bad to worse because now my IMAP folders no longer show up at all (except Inbox and Trash). During this whole time, the inbox has been syncing properly and mostly, promptly.

Finally, I should add that I did download and add the import/export NG tool and while it worked pretty successfully for small folders, if did not work well for larger ones. I'm still in dialogue with the developer.

Any help would be much appreciated; I'm incredibly frustrated.

P.S. I tried this morning to repair TB, just in case, but using Control Panel, the only option was to uninstall it, which I did not want to do. I do wonder whether TB has somehow gotten corrupted.

I also tried opening in safe mode, which didn't help. I shut my computer off at night, so it's restarted at least once a day. Yesterday and today, I also restarted during the day in hopes that it might help. No dice.

TB 115.11.0 (64-bit, W10). ABOUT shows 115.11.1 avail. Selecting WHATS NEW gives a "Welcome to Thunderbird Daily page" with some warnings and other links, etc. Going to Release Notes (for 115.11.0) then "See all releases" shows a link for 115.11.1, but when selected, missing page.

I cannot download any files or any adons through firefox. I have tried every single troubleshooting method in the "What to do if you can't download or save files" article I have restarted my computer, I have refreshed firefox, I have reinstalled firefox TWICE, I have turned off my firewall and tried downloading a file, I have changed the wifi im connected to, I can download files on internet explorer just fine, I have tried a new profile, I have scanned my device for viruses (theres none), I have no idea what the troubleshooting mode is supposed to do because I cannot download files in that either. I currently have no ad-ons installed because of the refresh I dont know what else to do and why is my firefox doing this, it started yesterday.

On the 23. of Mai I first noticed that I am unable to download any files whatsoever. I tried downloading .exe files and also a .csv file. When I try to download one of these files it appears in the downloads window but immediately goes to the status "Failed". Any retry fails as well.

The same thing goes for extensions. I cannot download any extensions or plugins using my Firefox browser. Since I reinstalled Firefox I can now also not use Plex because Firefox can't install the required plugins.

I will attach screenshots of all the errors I get.

All of the above worked when I tried it on the Edge browser.

Firefox version: 126.0 Windows 11

Things I have tried to fix the issue:

• Use the network connection from my phone instead of my home network
• Disable firewall and windows defender
• Reinstall Firefox
• Refresh Firefox
• Downgrade to version 125.0.1 and 122.0
• Reset router to factory settings
• Flush dns
• Restart PC
• Manually delete profile folder
• Delete temp files
• Change download destination
• Disable "Block dangerous and deceptive content"
• Troubleshoot Mode

Is Firefox using some other temporary folder for downloads?

Any ideas on how to fix this issue would be appreciated.
