Where are all my bookmarks - what have you done with Mozilla? you have screwed up my computer!
Everything I had on my tool bar, and all the sites listed in my Bookmarks are GONE!!!
What have you done with those sites? They were very important to me - I can not handle all these changes by Mozilla - None of these changes are of any use to me. I want to go back to my original screen and when I logged on today you would not let me access my internet and original screen without entering info that changed everything on my computer window!!! Help me find those BOOKMARKS
Mozilla Firefox is not user friendly - I don't want all these apps - EBay, Weather or YouTube! I had the necessary sites listed that are important and used everyday - not those listed. Who are you to determine what "apps" I should be using???

Anyway, Ctrl+Shift+H in FF, then go to Import and Backup>Restore and choose one of the backups. If there's none, try looking here: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[profilename].default\bookmarkbackups
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
I'm desperate to get back my Bookmarks in the same unsorted way and easily accessible as I had previously - at the moment they are hidden away in some sort of zipped form I am unable to access: they were previously listed in the ideal way for me to access - as chronologically bookmarked and disparate. It really is infuriating to have this level of interference with my personal affairs on my computer without even seeking my consent. Ideally I want a return to the earlier version of Firefox which worked perfectly well for me - I'm plagued with excessive slowness and freezing since the latest -Firefox 5.0- update was installed. Is there any simple way to revert back to the earlier version of Firefox?

If you mean that you have a JSON backup then you need to restore this file.
Note that this will replace all current bookmarks, so you lose the ones made after this backup had been created.

I am at the end of my tether with Firefox they are building unnecessary complexities to show how damn clever they are. There was no cause to remove peoples' bookmarks and lose them somewhere I can't imagine anyone complained about having them at their finger tips previously but Firefox thought how neat they could be tucking them away in little boxes and putting everyone to the trouble of trying to find them. Well I've carried out your `restore' method in the `library' and none of my earlier Bookmarks have come to light. Where the hell are they I need them for my work? I've already spent hours going around in circles and am no nearer recovering them. If that were not enough since Firefox imposed it's latest upgrade my computer has been behaving badly with freezes and long delays so that I've just had to reset Firefox in order to get it to behave again. From admiring Firefox I'm coming to detest them they're making my computer experience an absolute hell. Please someone tell me where I can find my Bookmarks?????
