Good day everyone,

I have been breaking my head over this for about a week. After the last update that was installed, now my tab width is smaller than the minimum width I have set them to. However, this only happens with active tabs from pages that have an embedded video. At first I thought this was just a thing with YouTube, but it seems it also happens with other video sites. I guess it may be related to whenever the playback button displays in the tab title and it detects there is video content.

I would like to know how to fix this behavior so that my tabs are no longer shortened beyond the minimum width setting.

Thank you in advance.

It's a bug that will be fixed in next month's release of Firefox 137. Until then, there is a custom style rule workaround, but whether it's worth your time to set that up depends on how often you have a problem with this bug. You can read the details in the other thread:

Well, now that I think of it, I forgot to mention some things.

My habit is clicking the scroll wheel to open a bunch of tabs with videos that I am interested in watching. Then I go and watch them one by one. This means every video is opened in a new tab, and (pre)loaded, but I haven't clicked the tab yet. So it is in this state between active an inactive. Once I click the tab (if I can manage without clicking the play button), the tab width becomes normal again.

I would also like to share all my settings, plugins and add-ons with you if that is relevant. Can you recommend an easy way to do so?

Thank you very much!

This has been very informative. Now that I now it will be fixed in the next version, I will see if I can live with it. If not, I'll try the workaround mentioned.
