Hi stefaniaraccagni, did you create the backup on your desktop? Where did that file come from?

Maybe it would help to add the optional bookmarks menu button to your toolbar. Looks like: . To add it, call up the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) and drag the button to the desired spot on the toolbar.

Does that have what you were looking for?

If you prefer using the sidebar, there is a Sidebars button, too. Or you can use Ctrl+B to open/close the Bookmarks Sidebar.

Hi Jscher2000. Yes, I had a back up and, I manage to restore them but only on the top left with "File - Edit - View - History - Bookmarks - Tools - Help". All of them take space on my page because I have the Tabs underneath, the search bar underneath and the Bookmarks toolbar where I keep some of my Web Site. If I tap on the symbol >> top right and click Bookmarks Menu, it only shows me half of my bookmarks. It works well with Ctrl+B but than, I have to close it because it takes space on my page. It's happening since Firefox updated, I don't like it.

So before the update, you weren't using the Menu Bar at the top, you were using the >> either on the main toolbar or on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

What is different now -- is the extra blank space between items that is causing fewer items to be visible? Unfortunately, there's no built-in adjustment to bring the menu items closer to together. There is a community-supported workaround which I described earlier today in the following thread:

Yes practically, there used to be a Bookmark icon on top right. I guess every time there is an update something changes and it's not possible to keep it as we're used to. I'm going to check that link. Thank you.

I'm on a new MacBook Pro and Firefox is now useless to me.

Update: Firefox Sync started worked and my bookmarks and tools are back. But my Bookmark Toolbar was lost and have to rebuild.

Now Mac Native "Text to Speech" won't work in Firefox. If I select a text block to read to me and hit my speech keyboard button, no sound. But if I then click my Mac Desktop, I can hear the text as it's being read in Firefox. If I click back to the Firefox page... Text to Speech stops reading. And no Text to Speech Firefox Add-Ons work.

This makes me question why I still use Firefox when FF updates keep breaking FF? I've used Firefox since it came out. No real problems. One to two updates had minor problems, but got fix in time. But you have to go through pages and pages of Mozilla Support pages to track down your problem. I'm not sure if Support will even read this!!

You can't call Firefox support to get real help from a real live tech. And I've seen little about this broken 89 update here on Mozilla Support. Who is running Mozilla now??

I found a better solution to this issue.

I found a FF Extension tool that Exports and uploads all my Firefox bookmarks, data and needed information to my Mac Safari browser...... problem solved. All issues back to working properly in Safari. I'm now finding Safari replacement FF Extensions to do the job needed in Safari. The switch over was painless. The Safari browser is faster. All needed security is built in. Getting on phone help is easy. I should have done this years ago. I will move my clients over to Safari as well.
