Just for kicks... Download a new version(US) to a separate folder, run it and see if the option is there.

thanks followed your suggestion (downloaded ver 85) but still don't see the option under preferences

That is so strange... There was another user who didn't have the DRM section. Someone closer to the Dev team will have to chime in.

Any friends in the area with the same issue or just you? How about Windows? What version of openSUSE? How about trying a live stick to see if it's on there.

so I fired up my old win10 laptop and installed Firefox 85.0 en_US The option for credit cards is also not there. Does this mean it is disabled for my location / region? It's enough of an issue that I cannot / will not use firefox without it.

I do have the DRM section under Preferences > General on both the Windows and openSUSE / Tumbleweed versions of firefox

But on both the Windows and openSUSE versions of firefox under Privacy & Security there is no section for Forms & Autofill

You can modify extensions.formautofill prefs on the about:config page.

  • extensions.formautofill.available = "on" (String)

thanks, yes, I just found this - and the credit card option now shows up. However, it has now raised another problem. When I put in my CC details and hit the save button - absolutely nothing happens. 1. Why doesn't the form autofill option show up as default after install? 2. Why does the save button do nothing? I'm still unable to save a credit card

more options

It is possible that the format in NZ is different than for US and is not yet supported and that is causing the save button not working. That is probably the main reason the credit card is only supported for the US region.

Yeah, It would be a nice to know if there are other users in you country with the same issue. Hit the openSUSE forum to ask.

Here is the answer...

Note: The credit card autofill feature is available starting in Firefox version 81 and is currently available only for en-US Firefox releases.

Why not try a usb live stick with en-US and see it works.

If you override a feature that is disabled by default then you do this at your own risk.

Does form autofill work better ?

Yes, Form autofill for addresses now works fine. Just the CC part isn't working for me

more options

This is not about the Firefox locale, but about the region you live in. Credit card numbers have a specific format and length and conform to an arithmetic check.

oh, sorry - I take that back. Form autofill will let me save my address - but it doesn't work. When I go to a site that requires me to fill in address details etc - it does nothing. Works fine in Chrome So I guess this is a feature that isn't yet available for where I am.

Would be nice if Mozilla could give us some definite info on this and when it will be available. Until then . . . I guess I'm stuck with Chrome

Only started looking in to this as google have removed sync from the Chromium browser
