I would like to be able to put my own shortcuts on the homepage Is there a way to do it? I do not want the browsing, the bookmark, the page saved in pocket, the saved etc. just the one I want. Thank you

PS If it is not possible, that would be a nice addition

Hi cdnhermit, you can use the checkboxes on the Options page to select the categories that display on the Firefox Home / new tab page. The section that lets you add your own URLs is "Top Sites". See this article: Customize your New Tab page to hide or display content.

To remove unwanted items from the Top Sites section, hover your mouse pointer over a tile until a little ••• menu button appears at the upper right of the tile. Then you can click that and either Unpin a pinned item or Dismiss a completely unwanted item.

Firefox should fill the empty space with sites from your history. You can pin those, or rearrange them. There's also a ••• menu button at the far upper right of the section with an "Add" option to paste URLs of sites that didn't bubble up automatically.

Does that do what you're looking for?

As I mentioned, I do not want the browsing, the bookmarks, the pages saved in pocket, the saved etc. just the ones I want. Yet, you are suggesting me to tick the Highlights. These I can access with no time and they are visual polllution on my homepage.

No, not Highlights, Top Sites. Turn off whatever others you don't want. Does your Options page show that category:

Please try the steps in the articles I linked you to. Here's an example of removing one of the default tiles from Top Sites:

Thank you for your help jscheer2000. Obviously, it seams that it is not possible for me to add my own shortcuts on my home page. What is offered by Firefox does not suit my need. My 'Top sites' is unchecked. Not usefull. A top site I don't have any. Not because I go check my gmail or hotmail account every day that I want gmail or hotmail to appear on my homepage. This is the difference. I don't have a top site. I go where I need to go when I need to go. Even if Firefox would present the option 'Sites you need to go' or 'Sites you go every day' I would not use these options because that is not what I want.

I simply require a way to create my own shortcut on the home page and get rid of it when I want to get rid of it.

There is something called Mozilla Developer. Is it something I could do with the 'Firefox Developer Edition'?

What if the name was changed from Top Sites to My Sites? It already has all the features needed to control the list. I'm not sure whether you've actually tried to use it.

The Firefox Home / new tab page works the same on the regular release and Firefox Developer Edition.
