Hi. I know this has been asked a few times already and there are multiple posts on it on here. But does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can change the default download location to external storage on android. I've followed the about:config methods force stopped the app and restarted to make sure the changes are done but nothing works. When I change the path to point to a folder on my SD card all that happens is downloads don't start. I can press a download button as much as I like and nothing happens. If I then change it to point to other locations on the internal storage then it will download but only to the default downloads folder regardless of whether I've set the path to documents/images or any other folder.

Is there another setting somewhere that may need changing??? All the guides I've found are around 4 years old. I've changed the browser.....folderlist option from 1 to two and then added in the browser.download.dir option and included the path I want but like I say any path to the external sd card just stops all downloads and if I set an internal storage path downloads work but regardless of the path will only download into the standard downloads folder. Any help would be appreciated.
