Ever since the new update, thanks Mozilla, my problems with Plugin-Container have returned. By now you should take note that this application doesn't work for everyone and that disabling it shouldn't be an Einstein project.

So now Flash Player is back inside the app and the following things happen: -Jittery effect in full screen, lack of V-Sync -Slow loading times -Tabs using flash acting rusty

Deleting the program and using the MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS method doesn't work. And also inside about:config I can't find anything. It hurts just to watch a 20 second video, let alone a 20-40 minute episode.

Edit: Another problem can be included in the list. From time to time I take screenshots from videos at full screen. Previously this would result in a very nice screenshot, no problems. Now I either get a black box or a screenshot as if I didn't enlarge the video to fullscreen.

I've been exploring and testing with some more videos. It seems it only happens whenever I come to videos using exclusively Flash Player. Youtube's HTML5 player works fine now, so the problem here is only from Flash itself. Some people also call it "tearing", a term I am unfamiliar with. I've been going through whatever I can find on Flash Player and tearing, but the amount of information I could find was limited to "I have this problem too, please help."

Edit: I looked more into it and found this particular Player where I have the most tearing has a "Video Smoothing" option. By disabling or enabling I remove a huge portion of the tear, making it very watchable. I consider it done for now. It's not entirely gone, but in acceptable ranges. Although I still prefer if my Flash Player was outside the Plugin-Container. Ever since release I have this war with it and disabling it always helped.

Isn't a problem on my graphic card's side. Videos streamed from HDD as well as games function like always. As for the drivers, I installed the latest yesterday, the problems arose today; after I updated FireFox, and it only happens with Flash-supported videos.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

  1. Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
  2. Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
  3. Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
  4. Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.

The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
  5. Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
  6. Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
  7. Restart Firefox.

This Flash Player Help - Display Settings page has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

Unfortunately no help. Without HA I can't watch in fullscreen. The video will show as full screen, the window also, but the image that is shown on screen is only so little, the rest is black.

I called for more help.
