I recently updated to version 56.0.1 (64-bit) of FireFox.

Since then, I have had multiple instances of tabs crashing. The most common occurrence is seen when trying to view a YouTube video linked to by a guitar forum.

When the tab crashes, no entry is added to the list shown via "about:crashes". No error code is given.

The specific text is as follows:

           Gah. Your tab just crashed.
           We can help you!
Choose Restore This Tab or Restore All Crashed Tabs to reload the page content.

This is followed by three buttons:

    (1) Close this tab
    (2) Restore this tab
    (3) Restore all crashed tabs

The difference now is all of my Firefox windows now crash. Not just the current tab. The first time it crashed, it did prompt me to allow it to "report home". I did so.

Well, that's one of the reasons for multiprocess. Can you provide the crash report ID? You might need to get it from disk. This article has more info on that: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly).

I reverted to 55.03. Let's see how that works.

Hopefully that will help. You may want to re-enable multiprocess by reversing the earlier changes.

Thanks. I did re-enable multiprocess.

If I have it right, the report ID is as follows: bp-e292b37c-f827-4b2f-957a-156be1171020

Does that sound like the right value?

Each report has a unique ID; the date and version seem right.

The crash occurred in the Intel graphics acceleration driver. This could indicate a new compatibility issue with Firefox 56. Our first stop for this kind of crash always is: Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL. Since there are a lot of fake/malware driver updates in search engine results, please stick to safe sites.

I used both Windows and Intel services to look for newer drivers. According to both of them, I have the "most current" drivers.

PS: So far, I have had no crashes since I regressed my Firefox level.
