How do I improve the quality of thumbnails in New Tab?

Hello. Problem: When I open New tab I zoom in using my mouse wheel. The more I zoom in, the blurrier the thumbnails become (screenshot attached). I think it can be connected with the size of .png files used for thumbnails (now they are small).

Question: How do I make thumbnails Hi-Definition, so that they stayed in high definition even when I zoom in?
