After searching which version (latest) of FF could be used on this old laptop found that 16.0.2 was the one. After d/l & installation, when I tried to open it (while still Safari was running) I receive the message that this is not supported on this architecture???

My equipment specs are:

HARDWARE & OPERATING SYSTEM
iBook G4	Mac OS X - Version 10.5.8 Processor 800 MHz PowerPC G4
Memory 1.12 GB	L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB	Bus Speed: 133 MHz
BROWSER
Safari Version: 5.0.6	Last Modified: 9/23/12 6:59 PM
PLUGIN
Shockwave Flash 10.1 r102

Hope any of you see what has happened from the above! Thanks in advanced for any kind help!

Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5.

For an unofficial Firefox 38 ESR compatible version that runs on a PowerPC Mac with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at TenFourFox.

Since you have a PowerPC or PPC and not Intel see also https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-10-4-or-powerpc

It is recommended to use TenFourFox as mentioned above as Firefox 3.6.38 is rather old and vulnerable now.

Thanks for replying, cor-el & James!

It's working now but a little too slow. Tried the sample Youtube video and it's showing maybe one frame for every 25 and the sound, at some points, stops or jumps... Could these may be remedied or alleviated?

Still, I need to use it for a couple of days before finishing having an opinion. One of the primal objectives for using FF here was to reach Google Drive (something I still need to try) but also to see if downloading a video file might help rendering it better (still need to do that also).

Probably, in the next days I'll be back with another post referring to TFF!

Thanks again for your help!

Edit: While I was writing this post I was, at another Tab, trying to hear the stream from WQXR (a web radio station) but never heard a note from there... The YT video's audio was heard though, strange. It might have something to do with Java or Flash, I don't know it yet. Nevertheless, there might be a configuration route that might help me with this. Need to read more about TFF corners.

But, if you go to that site using TFF and find out what is it and include that in your reply I'll be much relieved.
