And please -- let's not blame my mouse this time? It is another new one since I dropped the old one and broke the LED.

Now, ever since this latest update, T'bird has been going crazy! One, it opens a new message in a new tab. When I select more than one message in order to move them to a sub-folder, I get the prompt: "Opening (X number of) messages may be slow. Do you wish to continue?" Of course I don't -- I just want to move the messages!

The "Delete" button provided above the message pane is much too sensitive. I only want to delete ONE message at a time -- not two or three unless I actually select more than one. Yet those two or three, often with different subject lines, disappear from the Subject window.

I don't know quite how to describe the latest issue: when I succeed in moving a message or a group of messages, or change folders, all too often my reading window flashes from full screen to "Restore Down" and back again. This is very disconcerting!

Again, the issue is NOT in my mouse! I believe it to be in the latest Thunderbird "update." Too many "chiefs" (read "developers")?

Found it! Slowed the double-click speed radically. We'll see if this works. Thank you _much!_

So you got a new mouse. Have you calibrated the click/ Double click speed. what about the scroll speed.

What you are complaining about is a mouse that is to sensitive. Your operating system has controls to adjust those things.

Got the new mouse about five weeks ago. Can't find where nor how to "calibrate" it; it's digital USB with a center scroll button.

Control panel under mouse. Check the setting on all the tabs in the dialog.

Didn't work. Worse than ever. I'm off to find a new email client; T'bird used to be really good but not any more.
