Yesterday FF upgraded from version 29 to 30 all good until I logged out of Hotmail and got a portal tickler homepage, I get the option for 9MSN, MSN USA or I know where I want to go don't show me this again. When I click the latter nothing happens so I tried opening Hotmail again twice clicking the other two options and the same, nothing happens??? At the bottom left corner of the page it says - javascriptvoid;(0) - when I click the option and the page turns a faded blue with a circle turning as if it's loading but nothing happens. I have cleared all history several times but this doesn't help either, the result is the same. I would appreciate it very much if anyone could shed any light on this problem for me. Thank you very much for your time and effort cheers have a good one.

In Australia had the same problem when signing out of Outlook and the screen freezes at the portal tickler page and options to select ninemsn or msn or don't ask again don't work.

Tried a few things then looked at Adblock Plus at "Open blockable items". Found two items on Portal Tickler signout blocked. Changed Adblock Plus to "Disable on this page only" and selected ninemesn on the screen and the portal tickler page never comes up again on sign out from Outlook. Seems Adblock Plus and Portal Tickler don't play nice together.

Also check your timezone in Outlook options as mine had changed to Lord Howe Island instead of Brisbane since the change with One Drive?

Cliff66 - You don't need to block anything with Adblock Plus.

Try this - To get the tickler page up again, in Firefox, go into the tools menu and click on Add-ons button and click remove Adblock Plus on the Extensions page - close Firefox - restart Firefox then reinstall Adblock Plus. When you next sign out from Outlook, you should get the tickler page again and won't be able to select anything.

If this happens then don't block anything just click on the Adblock icon and towards the bottom of the menu you'll see "Disable on this Page only". Tick this and you should now be able to make a selection on the tickler page.

See if it works. I don't use IE but this may fix it as well. There is an add-on for IE called "Easylist" which is connected with the Adblock but haven't tried it.

DCool Followed your instructions. All buttons are enabled but only 'Always direct me to ninemsn' actually stops the tickler page appearing completely. Now a blank tickler page appears immediately replaced by the ninemsn homepage. It would seem that the portal tickler is still functioning with only its redirect page being bypassed. If this malware, what is its purpose and is it possible to remove it completely?

No need to worry - it's not malware just an adtracker listed in Adblock Plus which causes the screen lockup which Adblock now ignores and allows the bypass. It's just Microsoft's subtle way of ensuring you go to ninemsn or msn websites. Don't think it can be bypassed because if you click I know where I'm going don't ask me again you end up at msn website so it won't let you go anywhere else anyhow.

At least you don't have to close Firefox lose any open tabs and restart Firefox again.
