For the last several weeks I have noticed that Firefox on Android is no longer reliably deleting cache/cookies etc on exit. I have verified option to delete browsing history on exit is enabled and and everything excluding downloads is selected to be deleted. I I am no longer consistently signed out of browsing sessions when selecting exit in menu main and restarting Firefox. Most of the time after re-opening Firefox, I am still signed in to various websites. I never had this problem in the past. If I force stop Firefox and clear storage cache, then I am logged out of browser sessions. Please advise if something has changed or if this is a bug.

Firefox Android on an older Sony Xperia Android Tab (2016) still receiving Firefox updates, would you believe it, cannot access about:config page -- and yes it's about:config I'm attempting to access. Firefox adress bar icon displays site warning and freezes the page load whatever setting i try in Firefox settings.

No antimalware or such nonsense used on the device, just as fake in protecting my privacy as (foreign) gov.-sponsored whitelabel antimalware and privacy search engines -- remembering the recent Bing API-blackout that displayed a Bing search engine error message in all of the so called's etc etc

I'm not logged in on the device, as in not syncing an access all home living room device in any way. I don't need a breadcrum trail of other users leading to my accounts.

So what am I after? I don't want a stored cache of recently visited pages that apparently hog the limited memory and I want to limit the amount of 'recently visited pages'-cache stored in Firefox on Android. I want Firefox to be *pristine (beyond the moniker settings available as 'clear all' at Firefox close) each time a user picks up the tab. So, there's one or two settings under about:config limiting the recently visited pages cache to the latest visited only after closing Firefox -- lowest setting available (?) is 0, but hey, that's life.

Firefox is a great Android browser but the desktop mode is unreliable and needs urgent improvement. Unlke other browsers, Firefox often forgets my desktop mode preference for sites. l enable it, but when I close and reopen the browser, it frequently reverts to mobile view. This inconsistent behavior disrupts my workflow. A consistent desktop mode is crucial; please prioritize fixing this.

For instance, I frequently use Google Sheets in desktop mode on Firefox for Android, as it provides a much better user experience. I have bookmarked the Google Sheets URL for easy access. However, every time I completely close the Firefox browser and then reopen Firefox and revisit the bookmarked Google Sheets page, the desktop mode setting is automatically disabled. I then have to manually re-enable desktop mode. Even after doing so, simply refreshing the page does not restore the previous working state. I must open the link in a new tab and re-enable desktop mode to get it to function correctly again. This issue consistently repeats every time I close and reopen the browser. It's important to note that this problem is unique to Mozilla Firefox on Android; it does not occur in other browsers like Chrome or Samsung Internet. I would greatly appreciate it if you could investigate and fix this issue."

Hi. I use Firefox for Android. In settings, there is an option called "external download manager" (an approximate translation from my language; framed on the screenshot anyway). And I can't resolve the difference whether I turn it on or not. What does this affect? Thanks in advance!

My 8.4 inch android Allocube Iplay 50 tablet cannot get desktop view. The mobile view is a non starter. My old Kindle has a great tabbed setup, as does my Firefox Windows which I've used for over 10 years. All my research on this indicates it should be available, but I can't make it happen. Is there a solution? Thanks

Hi, my firefox appears to be missing its navigation/toolbar. I only have a single bottom bar for the address bar, home, tab and the three dots. I would like to have the back, forward button, bookmarks to be pinned on the toolbar area. I try to use the Secret Setting but it does not have the option to enable toolbar. I have included two screenshots, the orange circle depicting my current situation. I would like to have something similar to the toolbar (Samsung Internet Browser) in the other screenshot with teal circle.

I have HTTPS only mode enabled, but in the Alberta section previously it said it I got a site with only HTTP security I could choose to go on to it by tapping "Go Forward" of something close to it; I can't recall exactly because I never get that message. I have only ever seen the option of "Go back" or "Try Again". I thought perhaps this was the only option you for when having HTTPS only mode enabled, am I looking at old protocols for previous versions of Firefox, or perhaps my search engine, or is there another option? Thank you for your time

I just updated Firefox to version 135.0 on my mobile and now I get this really annoying thing:

Everytime I open a tab to go on the YouTube website, it asks me if I want to leave Firefox and use the YouTube app. Every single time. And it even launched it once without asking me.

I don't want to use the YouTube app, how can I make this stop?

Have a good day!

Firefox Android keeps logging me out of websites + Firefox Android keeps reverting back to factory settings and even logging me out of the app itself

Firefox on Android (and Windows) keeps signing me out of any and all accounts.

I never noticed it until last month (January '25)

Example:

-> I log in to an account (and I am talking about accounts that I have saved in Firefox password manager) -> I use the website -> I check back into the browser after 2-3 days and like magic, I am logged out. -> I go to Firefox on Windows and it keeps doing the same thing as the Android app (logging me out of website(s) even if I signed into a website(s) 2-3 days ago), It was not like this ever on Windows before I installed Firefox on Android.

Some prerequisites:

1. My enhanced tracking protection level in Firefox is standard.

2. I only use one extension: Ublock Origin on Android. (and A LOT more on Firefox Windows, some of which are ViolentMonkey, Return Youtube Dislike, Search by Image among others.)

3. I do not have private browsing always on for any tabs or pages I open.

4. I do not have 'delete browsing data on quit' switched on for any setting (history, cookies, etc).

5. Firefox is my default browser.

6. I have not cleared cache or storage from Firefox.

7. I do use Firefox on more than one device. One is this mobile and another is on Windows. Both share the same Firefox account. (and I AM having issues on my laptop as well in terms of having to sign in a difference of 2-3 days.)

8. Firefox on Android and Firefox on Windows are both up to date with latest versions installed.

9. No kind of battery and/or app restrictions are imposed on Firefox on Android.

10. The 'Remove permissions if unused' option is unchecked in the Mobile Settings for Firefox Android.

Firefox on my Laptop (Windows) was facing the same issues ever since I installed Firefox on Android, it would keep logging me out of websites within a gap of 2-3 days.*

  • Update: As of 20th Feb, '25 It has been 4 days since I uninstalled Firefox on Android and so far I have not faced sign-outs/log-outs on any websites in Firefox on Windows and websites that I logged into a month ago are still logged in with my account credentials.

Part 2:

Firefox on Android keeps reverting back to Factory settings and keeps logging me out of the app as well as signing me out of my Mozilla account

It started off with me only getting signed out of my accounts on mobile but now Firefox itself keeps reverting back to it's default setup AND keeps signing me out of my Mozilla Firefox account and the Android app as a whole. (my session/profile keeps getting removed from Firefox Android)

Things like:

1. Theme changes back to 'Follow Device Theme'

2. Permissions change back to default (stuff like 'Allow screenshots in private tab' whilst still being enabled, like I intended it to be- does in fact not allow me to take screenshots in private tab anymore until I flick that permission from enabled to disabled to enabled again. So it looks enabled but it is still set to function on the default perm - which is disabled for new user- only problem is I am NOT a new user and this happening because Firefox on Android keeps signing me out of the app and my Mozilla account as well as deleting my preferences.)

3. Site Settings are all reset and back to their factory default

4. Firefox Suggest and similar search settings have default permissions

5. Whenever my Firefox reverts to it's default settings like this, it has trouble syncing to my laptop (both use the same Firefox account) and syncing up the tabs from the laptop on this, or even just the data like history and passwords too.

6. Anything I might have disabled/enabled in any type of setting(s) is reverted to default. Nothing stays persistent anymore.

This Firefox reverting to factory settings thing has happened thrice already this month (February) and I feel hopeless, frustrated and lost.

Update: I tried installing Firefox on Android again on 17th Feb, '25 and when I signed in with my Mozilla Firefox account- it treated that mobile/Android device as another one than the one my Mozilla Account recognised as my mobile account (which is named 'Firefox on my realme phone') and since it recognises it as a different account, the tabs that I had opened in my original Android Mozilla profile/account are now gone as seen in the attached second screenshot- 30 tabs.)

Update: As of 20th Feb (the day I am writing this), '25 It has been 4 days since I uninstalled Firefox on Android and so far I have not faced sign-outs/log-outs on any websites in Firefox on Windows and websites that I logged into a month ago are still logged in with my account credentials.

I apologise for my english for I am not a native speaker, I will co-operate with any volunteers who can help me solve this problem. Thank you so much in advance! <3
