Hi Shrix,

Tab groups is being released gradually started from version 137. You may expect to see the feature by May 6, 2025.

Oh, so it's not enabled by default for all users in FF 138?

I got it on one PC today but my other one it's not working in after updating. I created a new FF profile and tab groups works in that so I'm wondering if it's luck of the draw atm or I actually have some kind of profile incompatibility? I've created a new profile twice and both times it worked, just my main profile isn't.

If I sync my Mozilla account to a fresh profile, the tab groups stop working. If I leave a fresh profile unsynced and just manually install all my extensions, the tabs still work.

So I'm confused. EDIT: I'm on Win11

Correct. The full release is scheduled to be done by May 6, so you'll eventually able to use the feature. However, if you don't want to wait, you may want to follow the tips from Agent Vituel's above.

Thank you very much! That got it working immediately.

I dare say that'll solve the OP's issue as well.

Cheers!

about:config browser.tabs.groups.enabled To change a boolean (true-false) preference's value, double-click on the preference. Alternatively, you can click the Toggle button. Try true

I did the about:config browser.tabs.groups.enabled but I see no way to save. There is no check, button or any other save option. Got me baffled...

The Preferences with true/false is boolean as you just toggle between true and false. If it is bold then it was changed from the default. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox

I followed the procedures and toggled to True, however the tab groups function still does not work.

FYI I reinstalled Firefox Setup 138.0.1 with all updates. I am on Windows 11 Pro Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100; and Firefox 138.0.1 (64-bit).

Hope to get this sorted out as I really want to use the tab groups.

Thanks

@Mel is it possible that you turned off telemetry?

Where do I find 'telemetry?' I went through all the Firefox settings and am stumped...

It is Settings > Privacy & Security > Make sure the box next to Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla is checked [v].

Technical and interaction data, also called telemetry data.

Yes, I checked "Allow Firefox to send technical and interaction data to Mozilla." The Tab Group is still MIA.
