How do I get rid of the new menu bar that displays links/icons for "Getting Started" "Customer Portal" and "Other Bookmarks"? As they needlessly take up screen real estate. I guess they came as part of a recent update, but I find them to be a useless and redundant theft of screen real estate. Can someone please tell me how to rid my FF browser of it?

I am using FF85 (64-bit) on a 64-bit PC with Windows Home 10 64-bit.

Thank you,

Charlie

Hi Charlie, that's the Bookmarks Toolbar. You can hide it using a few different methods, but this might be simplest:

right-click the bar > Bookmarks Toolbar > Never Show

The keyboard shortcut for that is Ctrl+Shift+b (switches back and forth between showing and not showing).

Does that work on your Firefox?

Hi jscher2000, thank you for the solutions. I probably accidentally hit those keys in the first place—I hate when stuff I do that.

Note that in Firefox 84+ you toggle the Bookmarks Toolbar via "Ctrl+Shift+B", previously used to open the Bookmarks Manager, in case you accidentally used this shortcut key. The keyboard shortcut to Open the Library is now "Ctrl+Shift+O". You toggle the bookmarks sidebar via "Ctrl+B" (unchanged).
