Bought a new laptop and I had my old Dell laptop transfer all my data to my new HP. My email account went thru fine. But for some unknown reason, I couldn't get my Firefox browser transferred, and I NEED to get my saved passwords from the Firefox Master Password manager.

I think I made a big mistake after data was transferred and I started setting up the HP -- (feel like I got 'tricked' into using Microsoft Edge browser) and didn't know how to get Firefox browser so could get my passwords. So unfortunately, I ended up clicking Download Firefox browser and it was a brand new browser like I was a new first-time user as it was 'blank'....like I would have to start completely over. I have been a long-time Mozilla Firefox browser user. I have been desperately and frustratingly trying to retrieve my Original Firefox Browser that has ALL my info that was so handy and easy to use.

After checking for updates I will then go to SETTINGS> IT clearly shows that I am running Windows 11 PRO.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY IN PLACES THAT ARE TRACKING ME AND TAKING MY PERSONAL INFORMATI0N, THAT IT SH0WS OR SAYS THAT I am running Windows 10? I often see it if I sign into one of the many different accounts that require 2 factor authentication, which will send me a notification alerting me that someone has signed into my account from a NEW DEVICE. OR FROM AN UNKNOWN DEVICE. That is when they ask if I recognize this login and it shows device and location from which the login attempt is happening. IF I answered honestly, (because it is showing a login attempt happening from a (WINDOWS 10 SYSTEM) and my system shows Me that it is running Windows 11 PR0: it would flag as suspicious and my account would get locked up for sure. Instead, because of the odd hour of the night it occurs, that combined with the location I know it is myself and even though it says "ON A SYSTEM RUNNING WIND0WS 10", I force myself to lie and answer that I do recognize the attempt. I want to confirm that Mozilla Firefox is my default browser. I want it to appear when I start up my computer and have it appear on my screen when I'm at rest. But first, I need to set the page up again.

I've been tasked with removing Firefox from all Windows workstations in our enterprise environment. Our users don't have local admin, so when they install Firefox, it is installed in the user's profile.

I've just installed Firefox 143.0.1 in my own user profile for testing purposes. However, when I attempt to uninstall, either from Control Panel or by running %localappdata%\Mozilla Firefox\uninstall\helper.exe manually, UAC prompts for elevation, even though I installed without elevating.

I've dug in a bit more, and I found this was an issue five years ago as well:

According to that post, the issue was resolved, but it seems to have come back.

Hi everyone

I used Refresh Firefox option and it created "Old Firefox Data" folder on my desktop.

Awesome stuff. Sadly I cant get rid of it, here is why:

1. At first it said that the folder is used by another program and I cant delete it because of that. Cool, I decided to uninstall Firefox and make a clean install, so I have space to delete the folder too.

2. Long story short, it didnt work. I removed Firefox and tried to delete that folder, but wait for it, yeah I cant because I need permission from MYSELF. Awesome stuff.

3. I decided to use safe mode, so I used run command to run msconfig and I changed it to boot in to safe mode. But wait for it! YES! Its bugged and I cant login in safe mode, because pin is useless and it doesnt give me option to use password, so after hour of various things I got back to my normal mode via CMD commands. THANK YOU MICROSOFT.

4. So now Im stuck with the lovely "Old Firefox Data" folder, which cant be removed normally, neither in safe mode and wait for it! NEITHER WITH ADMIN CMD, not even the takeown /f "Old Firefox Data" /r command. THANK YOU MOZILLA!

So is there someone knowledgeable enough to help me to get rid of that folder pretty please? Like really a lot please.

I have several users that are running Firefox 137. When attempting to update, they get the message that the organization has blocked updates. There is nothing I can see that we have done. Attempted to update registry and .json file. I cannot find where the block is coming from. Do I need to delete and reinstall?

I'm having trouble installing Norton Password Manager, I keep getting a corrupt file, won't install, so I am running through the checklist of possible fixes.

The one I am up to is this :-

Refresh Firefox Click the menu button (≡). Select Help, then choose More troubleshooting information. Click the Refresh Firefox… button on the right side of the page. In the confirmation window that appears, click Refresh Firefox. Firefox will close and restart. When it finishes, a window will show the data that was imported. Click Finish. Choose whether to restore your previous windows and tabs, then click Let’s go!.
