Suddenly, I can no longer send emails anywhere. I can still receive emails. I use KDDI, and I contacted them, but they said there are no issues with their servers. I can send emails using webmail. It seems to be an issue with Thunderbird. The message shown in the attachment appears, and I get an error. Please let me know how to fix this.

Mein Betriebsystem WIN 11 Free-E-Mail bei Telekom Eingegange E-Mails werden auf dem Server von T-Online nicht gespeichert und auf meinem Thunderbird nicht im Ordner Posteingang sondern im Papierkorb vom Lokalen Ordner nicht im Posteingangs. Auf dem Handy werden Sie angezeigt und können gelesen und Bearbeoitet werden. Beim nächsten öffnen der E-Mail App werdenSie gelöscht.

Welche mögliche Ursachen gibt es dafür.

Everything working just fine last night. Wake up and Thunderbird will not retrieve emails.

Remembered this old message I got so I went through and deleted my second email address, didn't help.

Checked all settings compared to Yahoo, still won't download messages. I can even send a message with my current settings no problem, and it does login, just won't retrieve emails. Gives me a connection timeout.

Anyone have any ideas?

I recently bought a new laptop and upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I am a Spectrum user for my email server and Thunderbird as my client. All of my IMAP settings are correct according to Spectrum support. For some reason I can only receive email messages send to me but cannot send any out, including to myself. When I try to send anything it times out. What is the problem?

This is the third time I am sending this request for support. Here was my original request:

"I am a Spectrum user for Internet/email in the US. I recently migrated from Windows 10 to Windows 11. On both platforms I am a Thunderbird user for my email client. My settings are for IMAP (port 993 for incoming and 587 for outgoing) on both Spectrum and Thunderbird. Since migration I am no longer able to successfully send messages but am receiving fine. I have been on Spectrum's help desk and can successfully send and receive messages but when I try to send anything from Thunderbird the send request fails after several minutes. I need help! This is very frustrating."

The first time, I received a response from Manu Audino (Mozilla Support) who told me that his team's responsibility is to assist with restoring access to Mozilla accounts and subscription services. Manu gave me the link for Thunderbird support which is took me here. So I ask again for support to resolve my problem for sending out email messages. Since sending another request for help I have received nothing. I need help!

I checked and double-checked the server specifications, the password, tried OAuth2 as well as login with password. I checked that SMTP is activated in my Outlook settings. It's been for a few days since somehow it became unable to send mail. The error message is "The message could not be sent because we were unable to connect to the outgoing (SMTP) server smtp.gmail.com. The server may be unavailable, or the SMTP connection may have been rejected. Please verify that your outgoing (SMTP) server settings are correct and try again. Problem is I cannot see any mistake in my smtp setting. Some help much appreciated. Thank you.

A while back I noticed that an email that would normally have appeared in my Inbox was not in one of the local folders I created. I have a number of message filters that send emails into local folders, but I had not created one for the domain this email came from. Since then, this has happened with a number of emails, in some cases emails from new senders. Also, I'm pretty sure that a few emails that should have gone into one specific folder based on a message filter I created ended up in another.

Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it?

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for decades and they have even contributed a small amount of money to Thunderbird periodically. Just within the last two or three days all of a sudden I have been unable to send emails with my phone. I receive emails, but I do not send them.

So I opened up a laptop where I did not have Thunderbird and set it up properly through Spectrum using the incoming and outgoing servers as mail.twc.com. and yes, just like on my phone. I continue to receive new emails, but even with the laptop I was unable to send an email.

I received the message"send message error sending a message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to outgoing server smtp mail.twc.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."

I contacted Spectrum twice and both times they had me try to send a message through their Web server spectrum.net and that message did go through. Of course then their response is that this has to be a problem with the third-party app meaning Mozilla Thunderbird, and they can’t help with that at all. I sure would appreciate some help because I hate to walk away from Thunderbird as well as change my email address after all of these decades.

I succeeded in the Thunderbird transfer method described in these forums when bunging it on an old Win10 laptop. When I come to try the same on a new Win11 PC however, setting up an existing email address simply fails. I get as far, in the Set Up Your Existing Email Address page as "Configuration found at email provider" but can proceed no further as I get the message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password" The setup on my old PC is gone now, it finally gave up the ghost, I have email on the old Win10 laptop but that's far from ideal. Additional facts: it's an ntlworld email address; there's a possibility the password may be redundant (so many of these to be found when a PC is on its last legs) How do I get it onto this Win11 PC?
