Hello Thunderbird supporters

This is a problem, because some faulty emails land in the folder "Junk", others in the folder "Spam". It is NOT possible to re-change these folders in german language. I don't know what's the cause for this changement - I didn't use a new source for my Thunderbird.

Hello Frustrating.. I live in UK and want Thunderbird to work in English English but it keeps changing back to Canadian. I have been in settings and added English English and made it the default but TB keeps changing the setting and making Canadian the active language. How do I stop it?

I am reporting an issue with message filters in Thunderbird.

When the UI language is set to Japanese (ja-JP), the “Perform these actions” section in Tools → Message Filters is not displayed, making it impossible to configure filters.

Environment OS: macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 UI language: Japanese (ja-JP)

After switching the UI language to English (US) and restarting Thunderbird, the actions list appears and filters work normally. Switching back to Japanese reproduces the issue.

This seems to be a Japanese localization-related bug.

Since today (Version 146.0 Windows11 64bit) all subfolders, which are configured to send emails from (e.g. name+test@example.com for folder test) are renamend to the german word "Gesendet" for Sent. You can see that in the second screenshot. In the first screenshot you can see the name "Gesendet" which is locked against changes and the normal name of the folder is support in this case. I don't know, what has changed to yesterday. And as I'm using this feature intensivly, the "Gesendet" over all folders is quite annoying.

In Thunderbird's Settings under "Language & fonts, Choose the languages used to display menus, messages, and notifications from Thunderbird" I have selected Danish and English. Now I would like to remove English, because my folder pane is displayed in English, even though I have selected Danish as the first language (I am from Denmark). But I cannot remove English in Settings, only move Danish or English up or down. I cannot click on the Remove check mark, neither for Danish nor English. Does anyone know why?

今日Thunderbirdのメーラーを開いたらメールフォルダが英字表記に変わっていました。 具体的には「受信トレイ」は日本語のままなのですが、「送信トレイ」が「Sent」になり「迷惑メール」が「Junk」に変わるといった感じです。 受信トレイ以外はすべて英字表記になっています。 設定にある「言語とフォント」は「日本語」のままで変更はありません。 元に戻す方法をご存じの方がいましたら、ご教示をお願いいたします。

Die Ordnernamen im POP3 Konto sind plötzlich englisch: Drafts statt Entwurf Templates statt Vorlagen Sent statt Gesendet Archives statt Archiv Trash statt Papierkorb. Wie kann man auf deutsch umstellen?

Bonjour suite à une mise à jour de Thunderbird en date du 17 octobre le nom de mes dossiers est maintenant en anglais. J'aimerai bien savoir comment faire pour les remettree en français. Exemple Trash comment le renommer corbeille. Merci pouir votre aide

I have Thunderbird 144 and i have problem. I add pop3 account. New clean instalation Thunderbird. The name of Inbox is in Slovak "Doručená pošta" This is ok. Other folder have bad names. Not in Slovak but in English. Older versions Thunderbird not have this problem. Version 140 is ok. When I upgrade version 140 to 144 problem is here.... What about that?

How can I find information on actvating spell check to check spelling ? I have downloaded the dictionary but don't know where or how to find how to set up or settings.

Hello Forum, since yesterday I receive some emails by thunderbird only as a letter salad.

Ionos claims that this is no ionos issue...

I am using thunderbird 141.0 on Windows 11. But The problem ocurred already on Windows 10. Not all Emails are shown wrong only a few from different countries and sender. I have already tried to repair my inbox, checked the size of inbox folder (5,5mb) and reinstalled thunderbird. I have the profile folder in a different path on a different hdd.

I am desperate... Can you help me?

I occasionally create a message in right-to-left language. I can allign the text right, for that purpose, but I cannot enter text in the regular "flowing" manner as left to right english text. The cursor keeps on jumping to the beginning of the line, and the period is added at the beginning of the right-to-left text. Finally I realized that this is because the allignment is set properly to "right", but I cannot find a way to change the PARAGRAPH DIRECTION, which remains left-to-right! Typically, text entry programs provide an allignment as well as a Paragraph Direction setting for right-to-left languages. Any knowledge of how to set right-to-left paragraph direction will be greatly appreciated! Thanks much!

I changed computers and in order to make sure I could use TB on the new one, I updated the old computer from 120-something to 128.5.2, and then installed 128.5.2 on the new one as well. The transfer went okay - once I saw the video that explains how to do it - but when I sat down to write an R-T-L email, it didn't automatically R-T-L, and when I looked for the "switch-direction" button I was used to in the old TB, it wasn't there! I can write in Hebrew, (or Arabic), but I can't R-T-L the text. HELP? HELP! Thank you
