Email messages which contains items other than plain text used to cause a button to be displayed that told me there were items other than plain text in the message and asked if I wanted to display them. Suddenly, that option no longer appears on individual messages. I don't know of anything I did to disable that function.

Looking carefully at your documented instructions I have every setting correct except in the outgoing SMTP server I can select connection security to STARTTLS but i do not have the option available for OAuth2 in the drop down list for Authentication?? What do I do as I have updated Thunderbird to the most recent available for my 32 bit version of Linux which is 68.10.0 which it appears cannot connect to my Hotmail mail service. I do have OAuth2 available on server settings strangely enough but not in outgoing SMTP server settings.

Something horrible and time-consuming has changed within this past week to Thunderbird. My version is 140.7 1esr 64bit. Over the past 4 days or so, I've found I cannot scroll down and see the full emails--until I have to use this new pop-up system.
This is definitely not an improvement in my estimation. Is there any way to undo this?

1. I am getting Mozilla Thunderbird ESR notices pop up when I log on to my PC (W11). I checked my Thunderbird version and I have 146.0.1 and I am on the release channel so why am I getting these notices ? 2. Recently I noticed that when I try to move e-mail messages to a specific folder, I right click on the message and get the prompt Move To and then Recent Destinations where the problem exists. The list of Recent Destinations used to be in alphabetical order and now it is sorted by most recent destination time. This slows me down considerably. Please revert. Thanks !!

Transfers of profile attempted from operating PC (Win-10) Cannot locate profile even in a "fresh Install" although the shortcut appears on screen and other associated files seem to be installed. bold textI recently had my computer get stuck in the "automatic repair" loop making it impossible to boot up. I restored a several months old back up onto a different hard drive. I can boot on the new hard drive, but Thunderbird is missing several months of e-mails. I have tried importing from the old hard disk, but IT DOES NOT WORK. Alll it does is create a new "Local Folders" with nothing in it. I have tried exporting the old profile to a zip file, but it is 14 GB, more than Thunderbird can handle. How can I import the old e-mails into the working version of Thunderbird on the new hard drive. Please, do not say "use the import function" as i have already found it does not work.

For the past few days when I open Thunderbird I get a message "https://caldav.one.com is requesting your username and password." (see attachment). I've never signed up for Caldav so I don't have a username or password. If I hit "Cancel" it proceeds as normal. If I enter my email address and log-in password it also proceeds as normal. In either case I have to go through the same process every time I open Thunderbird.

Hello! The other day everything worked as usual, and I shut down the computer for the night. The next morning, Thunderbird immediately crashed/shut down when starting each of the 2 profiles I always use. The 3rd profile, which is the default-release running a different email, still seems to work normally. Thunderbird 115.10.1
I have tried Windows (10) safe mode, as well as thunderbird Troubleshoot mode and working offline, but the issue continued to occur.
I'm at a loss now as to what could cause 2 profiles to suddenly cause it to crash. By the way, one profile is for a gmail account and the other one is for an Outlook account, so they don't seem to be related.
In case it helps, there were 2 Microsoft Visual C++ programs installed or updated, and updates to Microsoft 365 and Google Drive just before the problem started. These were all auto updates in the background.
Any help from the Community would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hello! I want to set up TBird to: 1) Get all my messages and attachments stored locally, and... 2) Remove *most* of the above from gmail's server to avoid the data limit, but... 3) Keep, perhaps some months or a year of activity on gmail's server so I can access recent items from wherever.
Questions: 1) I have 10s of thousands (more?) of msgs, many with attachments. Is it better to just set up TBIrd and let it grab all the messages, or start by using Google TakeOut? 2) I presume I use IMAP vs. POP? 3) To preserve messages on my harddrive, I could archive to a local folder. Then I could safely delete those same messages on the gmail web interface? 4) If this turns into a disaster, can I just remove the entire account from TBird without suffering a loss of my entire email history? 5) Any insurance maneuvers to prevent the disaster of accidentally losing my entire email history while attempting to set this up? (Obviously will need to be religious about backing up my own system, though keeping a year of email on the gmail server offers a bit of insurance once the set up is successful.)
I am really hoping to avoid creating a unholy mess of my email/spending a week trying to fix it. (Indeed, I have avoided this project for years for this reason, but I really, really want to do this.)

Hello, since friday, 6.2. thunderbird does not launch new (and also not completely all older) Emails anymore. So I can't see all my recieved and send E-Mails. In all my 3 Mail-Accounts froms different providers it does not work anymore, without changing anything from my side I know. But from my handy, where I use google-Mail, it works.
I already checked synchronization settings and repaired the E-Mail-folders.
So, are there any technical defects or problems with thunderbird, an update for instance that caused trouble for instance? And what can I do, to make it work again? Atherwise I would have to quit thunderbird and change my Host.
