This is pretty shady Mozilla.

When disabling only one setting: "Allow Firefox to install and run studies" it wrecks this site whether logging is or continuing as guest:

https://appointment.questdiagnostics.com/schedule-appointment/as-personal-information

Even after logging in and everything running normal, disabling the studies run by Mozilla and a quick refresh breaks the functionality of the page. All cookies were accepted and the sharing of location was allowed. On a fresh, first run, wide open Firefox people. Literally, the only change that was made was unchecking that one box. In disbelief, i tested it over and over.

Why would disabling a telemetry setting, something that should be optional, cause this to happen? Seriously, what could possibly be the reason. I'd love to hear it.

This was the final nail in the coffin to me and this is since the 0.9x days.

So the options are Block, Allow for Session, and Allow. Block and Allow are obvious; Allow for Session not so much. If multiple windows are used on same website at the same time, is each window a Session or are they all covered for the duration of that specific session? If Allow for Session, will they have access to what goes on only when Session is happening, or will they be updated with ensuing traffic the next time I open a Session? TIA, KBo

I have gone into about:config and changed all the telemetry entries et al to false to prevent as much datareporting as possible - what I want to do is prevent Firefox (135) from creating the 'datareprting' folder in my profile folder. I delete it every time I go into Firefox, which is an everyday pain because it returns with EVERY new session. I delete it 1. because they don't need it, and 2. more importantly, firefox is NOTICEABLY faster once it is deleted. People have been asking this since like FF 40. Can anyone solve this?

I am observing a trend where popular extensions, such as the "I don't care about cookies" extension, change ownership and become derelict and/or malware, as clearly pointed out in recent reviews for the extensions. However, it takes multiple clicks to get to this information in the reviews, and there is very little curation.

I understand it is likely highly infeasible to audit extensions for malware in any comprehensive way, however I definitely feel that there is room for enhancement of the present processes.

I think this extension search process should be more proactive in informing users of these events. For example, rather than just displaying a star rating next to the extension name, displaying chronological trends would be more information-dense. Like if recent reviews are trending negative. This could also reward and incentivise extensions which are properly supported, (and not malware), displaying that their reviews are maintaining / increasing positivity over time.

A supporting feature could be publicising changes of ownership of an extension prominently - "This extension has changed ownership N times, the most recent change was Y-date to X-owner. Reviews have trended Z since that time".

Is something like this being worked on already? If so I am interested in contributing to it.

I have noticed that recently, whenever I start Firefox, BING is auto-opening a new tab *without my input.* Firefox is not my default browser (I use several), and I have removed ALL extensions and themes (except for ad-blocking, which has always been there), and ensured that pop-up blocker is enabled. My Windows 10 PC cannot find any malware; I hate being hijacked (esp. by Microsoft) and want this to stop! My other browsers do not do this...only Firefox. I have tried suggestions to modify REGEDIT, but can find no solutions to prevent this (other than not using Firefox anymore). Help, please! Thanks so much.

I am unable to call up my routers web access page. When I key in the routers address, the following message is shown

we could not verify the certificate: reason = untrusted

I have two computers, my secondary (old, tired, and crusty) gives me an option to bypass and access the page anyway, but my main computer (all the bells and whistles) does not give me this option. I know there has to be a setting somewhere, but I have no idea where it is. Help?

I posted the following on facebook yesterday, I feel as if something changed in my Firefox settings as this only started about 2 months ago. 2 factor Authentication is shut off in facebook. "Can anyone tell me how to shut this off? Everytime I log onto FB from my computer I get this screen. 2-factor authorization wants to send a code to my cell phone. There's got to be a way to turn it off. I am using Windows 11 pro with Firefox as a browser."

Any thoughts?
