Autoplay (STOP)

more options

Hi, I would like a GLOBAL setting that will BLOCK/STOP all Autoplay period! Why does this not exist?

The below is a "Chosen Solution" that does not work. Can this be removed? as it is no longer relevent? I have just wasted my time trying it.

You can look at these prefs on the the about:config page to see what settings work for you to block autoplay.

   media.autoplay.default = 5 [0:allow;1:blockAudible;2:Prompt;5:blockAll]
   media.autoplay.blocking_policy = 2
   media.autoplay.allow-extension-background-pages = false
   media.autoplay.block-event.enabled = true

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Thank you for any help in this matter. I am most deffintly not the only person having this issue.

Firefox's Autoplay block is design to prevent sites from starting an audible video (or optionally, even a silent video) immediately when a page first loads. Events may occur later in time, such as videos appearing when you click something, or videos that detach and float in the margin as you scroll the page, or YouTube loading more videos into the player after the first video completes. Those unfortunately are not affected by the Autoplay block feature.

There's no such as what your asking. Only thing that could do that would be Addons that would block AutoPlay. And for that you need to look at Firefox Addon page and find and install the one that will do what your asking as there many Addon AutoPlay blocker but not all are created for everything.
