Firefox version 103.0 causes Windows (intel HD) graphics driver to crash and restart repeatedly. Temporary fix = disable hardware acceleration in firefox. I had to force a shutdown by holding down the power button on my laptop to get out of this infinate loop. Mouse becomes unresponsive and does not appear or move after a few crash and restarts of graphics driver. One way to stop it early on is to close firefox by keep clicking the tab close x or top right firefox page close x. Problem only on one website that i listed below.

here is the windows events entry(i edited out my computer name)... I have 5 of these events but the crash and restart happened many more times than that. I believe the first happened yesterday.

website i loaded in firefox that gives me this problem... cams.omexxx.com (note it is a pron site). I did not even click aree to terms.

To troubleshoot i did the following... 1) opened command prompt with admin priveledges and ran sfc /scannow it found no errors. 2) i reset all kaspersky settings back to default. 3) I refreshed firefox back to default settings. my addons were deleted after doing so and i did not add them back. 4) i uninstalled the intel hd graphics driver from device manager 5) i reinstalled the intel hd graphics driver downloaded and hash checked today same version as old driver. 6) even after the above problem remains 7) I tried loading the website that gives me this problem in microsoft internet explorer and i did NOT get the problem. 8) Done some google research online and then i went to... firefox menu - tools - settings - general - Performance - this was selected so i unselected it = Use recommended performance settings i unselected this option = Use hardware acceleration when available 9) I went to the problem website and i no longer got the problem/bug so now i have a temporary workaround/solution.

Please investigate and fix this at your end if you can or find out what is going on. Think about turning off hardware acceleration by default in firefox as it is obviously bug prone. This problem only started in the last couple/few days. Did the website in question change something in the last days? before that i accessed it with no problems. Did firefox update recently? I had not changed my intel driver until i got this bug. I have other event viewer errors here is an example of one that may or may not be relevant that has appeared a lot lately (it states atal error)...

What is the make and model of your laptop? Download this from Intel and run it, just to verify that you have current drivers. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html Did you try running Firefox without Kaspersky? Have you tried the same steps in a different windows account? Let me boot to Win7 and see if I have any issues. I also run Kaspersky Free.

I'm sorry for the late reply, but I had to ensure a very very thorough investigation of this very important issue... Works just fine for me.  ;-))

I downloaded installed and ran ater reboot = https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html a webpage popped up and said drivers up to date...

Your Intel® drivers and software are up to date. FUJITSU LIFEBOOK AH512 BIOS Version Phoenix BIOS SC-T v2.2 Date 10/2/2012 Motherboard Manufacturer FUJITSU Model FJNBB29 Version Unknown Operating System Edition Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) Version (Build) 6.1.7601 Devices and Drivers Processor Intel® Pentium® CPU B960 @ 2.20GHz Graphics Intel® HD Graphics CyberLink Mirror Driver Audio Realtek High Definition Audio Intel® Display Audio Networking and I/O Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 NETGEAR A6100 WiFi Adapter Kaspersky Security Data Escort Adapter Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter #13 Memory 16 GB Storage WDC WD7500BPKT-80PK4T0

That shows the make and model of my laptop. I only have the one windows account(an administrator), it is not tied to my microsoft email. so i cannot try from another.

Q) Did you try running Firefox without Kaspersky? A) I just turned on hardware acceleration in firefox. Closed kaspersky Total Security, then verified windows built in firewall was running - it was. Then i visited in firefox cams.omexxx.com I got the same problem again. Note this was with my 3 addons in firefox enabled and running = NoScript Security Suite. Adblocker ultimate. Kaspersky protection component 2021 (installed from firefox addons screen). Note previously i got tis error even with the addons removed after i refreshed firefox. Here is my windows events log for it... ok i couldnt find it either its not there or i cant find it

note i have been getting a lot of "error" Schannel event id 36887, fatal alert 70. not sure if relevant. I even got errors for the intel driver assistant in my events.

This has only just started happening. It is random on misc sites. Apple Login is one.
