when i slide my finger across my mouse pad on my laptop, the page zooms in and out. how do I stop that?

is there a setting to completely turn off the zoom feature? Sometimes I move my finger or slide it the page size moves in or out and it is frustrating. please help!!

Because of issues that touchpads cause, many just disable it when a mouse is detected.
