I try to access my bank website and when I log in the tab says "Something went wrong" and the page tells me Sorry, we couldn't complete your request Sign in to online banking or our mobile banking app to continue. This started on April 1, 2021 Running Firefox v87.0 (64) on Win 10. All apps are current. Tried resetting Firefox, and clearing cache which didn't work. I can sign-in using Edge. Thanks

Win7_64 bit here. Today. Had 2 use Edge 4 NavyFederalCreditUnion login. They said lots of complaints from FF users. FF87.0 was denied all screens. 87.0 blocks downloads of older FF versions. Edge worked again. Youtube full screen mode stopped working w/FF87.0. Worked fine previous to 87.0. Going back 2 FF86.0.1 downloaded w/Edge. All worked B4 update 2 FF87.0. I used every screen mode version & cleared cache & cookies. I get the correct pages but upon sending Name & PW the result is access denied to that login server... Used Edge & previous FF versions w/o problems.

Unfortunately, I cleared all the caches and re-installed Firefox so I don't have any 'previous' versions that I can go back to. What I found is that after a few hours even on Edge my bank app refused my log-in.

Okay, just out of curiosity, I downloaded version 86. Surprise, surprise I can now ACCESS my banking information. This is definitely a bug with F/F. Just don't know how to do a bug report.

Please provide a public link (no password) that we can check out. No Personal Information Please !

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hi, thanks for your reply. So, I'm not sure how to do the public link. I've tried all the other things suggested:

  • Cleared computer cache
  • Cleared cache and cookies in Firefox
  • Checked for updates.
  • Started Firefox in safe mode, same result.

As I mentioned I opened Edge, put my log-in information in and tah-dah, I could sign in. I'm slightly computer literate, just enough to screw things up. What type of programs or add-ons could block log-in? Here's a list of add-ons I have for Firefox:

  • Duck Duck Go
  • HTTPS Everywhere
  • Malwarebytes
  • VideoCall (New)
  • Facebook & Google Containers

I'll try and provide whatever I can to help fix this.

What link are you using for that website?

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

If the problem goes away with the computer in Safe Mode, the problem is with one of the other programs on the system.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

Sorry, can't seem to figure it out. Found out this might be a problem with the banking site and not with Firefox. Actually, it sounds like a FF problem, see John_3_16
