Since the last update, Firefox opens with AOL.com. I have opened the page I want to use as my home page (Google.com) and dragged the icon to the homepage symbol. I have gone into options and checked use current page, I have typed Google.com into the open with page box. Nothing works. I have never used AOL.com as my home page, and only use it about every 3-4 months to clean up old emails.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues even thou one program is disabled. You must remove the older programs. Then get the current full installer.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

You can check the home page setting.

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check the Status column of this pref on the about:config page.

  • browser.startup.homepage

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

Does this only happen when you start Firefox?

Does the home page setting change?

You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
