Windows 10 updates disable Firefox icon in taskbar.

In Windows 10, I keep a shortcut to Firefox under an icon in my taskbar (so that I can reach Firefox with a single convenient click). Every time Microsoft imposes an update, the update disables my Firefox shortcut and instead pins in a shortcut to Edge. After every Windows 10 update, I have to unpin Edge manually, recreate the Firefox shortcut, and re-pin it into the taskbar. Is there a way to protect my setting from Microsoft Update?
