During an online transaction I get into a loop where Firefox reports "Firefox prevented this page from reloading automatically". I respond with Allow but the situation repeats. I have changed the settings to standard for this particular website, but the problem persists and appears to be the reason that the transaction eventually fails. What other settings or adjustments do I need to make to allow Firefox to automatically reload a page on a trusted site?

Certain sites (the latest being https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/, which i've downloaded successfully from before) cannot be downloaded from - firefox gives the error of "[site] attempted to automatically download multiple files. The site could be broken or trying to store spam files on your device."

I know these downloads aren't spam or malicious, but when I hit the "Allow" button to give permission, there's no change. The downloads remain blocked and new downloads are blocked.

I've turned off my antivirus shields to see if that was causing it, but to no results.

I sincerely thank you for your time and know that you're quite busy, and look forward to hearing back about this issue.

Firefox supports Websockets, which allows servers to push arbitrary data to the client, instead of having to rely on polling methods via HTTP and JS. Whilst solving one problem, it creates another. I do not like the idea that any website can just ask Firefox to make a persistent WS connection without my consent. The same is true for service workers, but (unlike websockets) i'm not at all interested in using those. Luckily there's a configuration option to disable support for websockets, network.websocket.enabled, wich is exactly what i've done.

Is there a way to selectively allow websockets, based on IP or domain? If not, why isn't there one? Am i really the lone outsider who's concerned about security?

Hello... EVERY time I try to sign into my Yahoo email, I have to go through hoops to actually get there. When I click the box that says ...never ask on this device again, your system ignores it. This "Added Security" is not helpful. nor is it adding any security to anything. All you are doing is making me look for other web browsers. Google Chrome does not do this. Safari does not do this. Opera does not do this. I do not need to be contacted via text message, OR ANY OTHER WAY, to gain access to MY email account. Stop holding me hostage!!

Please tell me how to get rid of this absolutely horrible "feature."

I purchased an OlnyKey to use for two factor authorization (2fa) for social media and other sites. I set it up and tried to sign in to Facebook. Immediately a drop down window opened saying Windows indicated it had to be registered with Firefox. I clicked okay and followed the steps to create a PIN which I did. Then it said to touch my Security Key which I did and another drop down box opened stating the device failed to register.

I tried this three times, now what? Why do I need to register my Security Key? How can I see if it is registered with Firefox? What is keeping it from connecting to Facebook?

Everything I read and watch does not expose this kind of problem. I don't know how to see if the problem is Firefox, Windows, or Facebook! UGH

Good day,

Really happy to see that mozilla is tightening up security. But unfortunately, I can't enroll into Two-Step Authentication everytime I enter code it's not being accepted. I tried multiple android apps of those codes and non of them work for me.

Because of that, I lost access to addons.mozilla.com account, because system doesn't let me in without 2step auth enabled.

Any chance I can use yubikey's intead of those auth apps? or anything else I can do?

Facebook does NOT require any HSTS, Edge goes there with no problem. This is why I deleted Firefox last night, I downloaded it again to try to get there and what do you know, it worked. That is until it told me to refresh, then all of a sudden you claim it requires this HSTS which is crap. The only reason I'm not on Edge now is one small little imperfection that Firefox doesn't have. So I guess I'll be deleting Firefox yet again with it's HSTS nonsense.
