Firefox has been crashing regularly for a full day now. I have one profile with multiple extensions, and a fresh profile that is meant to test firefox without any. With this new, "clean-slate" profile with none of my extensions installed, I still get repeated crashes. It is getting in the way of my ability to work- it happens even in Troubleshoot mode, even though I could not confirm any hardware issues prior to this.

Will I need to delete the extenstion-filled profile entirely before going forward? Is there an update I need to install, or anything else I should do myself? Should I provide a list of my extensions?

I am trying to find a way to restore the previous tabs that I had open. All the standard restore procedures out of the History button or elsewhere are not working due to the account change. Here's the background and scenario: Original account created 1 month ago on old Linux PC New PC purchased and Ubuntu Linux 24.04 installed Firefox installed and configured, bookmarks imported from .html file. No sync account was ever signed in to. Open a crapload of tabs that I wanted/needed to interact with (yes, I need a better task management system) Finally decide to log into sync account, successful sign-in Close browser for PC restart. Upon restart, all configurations from 1 month ago on old Linux PC are present, and no previously-opened tabs come back. Restore session/restore tabs/restore browser all are greyed out, no data to access in history anywhere. Signed out of account, closed browser window and restarted. Still displaying config from old sync account even when not logged in (different theme, toolbar settings)

I am unable to locate any files in the pathway Home/snap/firefox/common/.mozilla/firefox that clearly indicate multiple profiles; there is only one distinct profile folder present. I haven't cleared cache or anything, trying to not touch it more. Is it possible to restore or even see the URLs of those tabs from my session prior to logging in to my sync profile?

I just installed a new version of Linux Mint (Zara) and all is right with Firefox, except the screenshot who doesn't work. The buttons "Capture the visible area" and "Capture the entire page" don't work. The additional tool in the toolbar doesn't work. What can i do, please? Thanks for your answer. Pierre

Hi Lovely Firefox Developers, Help articles say that "The translation feature ... has been available for all users since Firefox version 118.", but I can't see it and I'm on v147. I don't want to install the add-on as the articles say it's obsolete, but I can't see any other way to get it. Am I missing something? Tim

So I have two Google accounts, let's call them Antelope and Bear. Antelope is my "main" account, but I use Bear for a lot of things too, which includes Gemini. So, if I want to use the Gemini chatbot option on Firefox's sidebar, it would make the most sense to use it under my Bear account, since that way I can access my previous chats and all that. However, when I open the Gemini chatbot, it automatically logs me in as Antelope. And when I click on the account's profile picture to swap to Bear, it instead opens the Gemini site on a new tab, in which I am indeed logged in as Bear, but the sidebar remains stuck on the Antelope account. I've tried the "reload Gemini" option, restarting Firefox, and clearing the cache, but nothing works. I think I could fix it by logging out of both accounts, then logging in only as Bear, letting the sidebar "grab" that account, and then logging in as Antelope, but I wanted to know if there's an easier/cleaner way to go about it. Since I updated to Firefox 141.02 I have not been able to play videos on Paramount+ or Netflix. I get an error on the top that says the Widevine plugin has crashed on both streaming services. I have checked that the plugin is on and there are no updates. I am on Ubuntu 24.04. Video on YouTube plays as normal

i recently switched to zorin os from windows 11 and i noticed my firefox data was gone (despite being signed in + syncing my passwords) could it be my wifi? an unrecognized device? its the same laptop + network so idk what

Hi, 48 hours ago I upgraded firefox 140.5.0(esr) to 140.7.0(esr), and now, 48 hours later, everything suddenly stopped to work and I cannot load pages anymore.

48 hours is the lifetime of my kerberos ticket. After 48 hours firefox should send a new ticket to the applications, but 140.7 doesn't. The ccache in the application is empty!

I downgraded back to 140.5, and immediately everything works again.

Was support for GSSAPI/kerberos/SPNEGO removed between 140.5 and 140.7, and why so? Otherwise, how do I get it to work again?

I cannot sign into Discover Card when I use FireFox. I talked to Discover Card about it. They say the most frequent reason it happens is because Discover Card is not on your safe list. I tried signing in on my other PCs with a Ubuntu OS and their browser Opera works fine on signing me in. Within the last two weeks I installed Mint on two of my PCs. works great except for not being able to sign in to Discover Card. I am not having that problem on any other sites. I doubt if my cache is full as my usage being new OS has been minimal. I just tried signiing in with this PC after installing Mint yesterday. I get the same message

"We're sorry. Your request cannot be completed at this time. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and are working to resolve this issue soon."

Discover wants to blame Firefox. Personally I think It has to do within the Mozilla VPN. I say that because I often had the same problem when I used McAfee's VPN. Discover maintains it has nothing to do with VPNs and it is a trust issue.

Eventually I want to replace Ubuntu with Mint. But I cannot until this problem is fixed. Opera is also running a VPN when I sign in so this would support Discover Cards theory about Firefox not having Discover on a safe list. I think they have it wrong though. If your site is blocked you are not on Discover's safe list. I wish we could get a meeting of the two minds instead of me trapped in the middle. Hope this helps.

sir, lately i had problems with syncronizing FIREFOX between two computers. seems one has an "old" version. i cannot "install" new versions; i download, but then, how to "install-activate". then i checked on "entry-passwords"...hélas, i do not understand your explanations... the technical terms.... what is the account for... etc. i am 80 years old, and i guess you, the IT community, can't care less.

what if this translation could be run a standalone tool, command, or you call an api to translate something locally?

If I'm not mistaken, between FF146 and FF147 it appears the location of the profile directory has changed. It was:

   /home/<user>/.mozilla/firefox  

and now is

   /home/<user>/.config/mozilla/firefox

Is that correct?

Desktop Firefox 142.0.1 (aarch64) iPhone 11, iOS 18.5, Firefox 144.1 (62735)

I just reinstalled the desktop which needs the mobile phone's bookmarks. If I wipe the phone bookmarks, I lose everything. Backup, how on the phone? Sync, how? The Firefox Bookmarks Sync isn't an exact science and a misstep could be catastrophic!

Here's what I'm looking at on the desktop and the phone, attached. 1. Desktop Firefox Bookmarks Sync window show a 3 horizontal lines (hamburger icon) for iOS Firefox settings. 2. Phone Firefox has 3 horizontal dots (meatballs icon) for iOS Firefox 3. Phone Firefox has my Firefox account logged in and a Settings option, but which one (I choose Settings 4. Phone Firefox Settings shows my ACCOUNT and a Sync Now option, but which one (I don't want the phone to Sync and pull no data from the desktop and wipe the phone Bookmarks (no backups)).
