Since recent updates I've been getting notifications on Firefox every time another website send me a notification email. A little window opens in the lower right hand corner. BTW I use a desktop computer exclusively. I never use Android or the Apple equivalent. Only desktop Windows presentation.

These notifications are most annoying. How do I get rid of them? Search as I may I can't find any setting switch that will turn them off. BTW these do not originate with my mail program. Of that I am certain. I've already been through torturous sessions with them about notifications.

Of all the benefits offered by computers it is the insistence on notifications that aggravates me the most. I routinely move about and check various programs for something new. I neither need nor want this sort of automatic feature. And I have no desire to "be the first to know". How childish that one is.

Back to my question. How, in Firefox, can I turn off notifications?

Thanks.
