For legal reasons, I needed to know the date upon which I visited a particular website several years ago. To my dismay I learned that FF browsing Hx was limited to 6 months. Now, it's limited to a number of visits. Does Hx have to be limited at all? Why? Surely, at this point in our technology we can store records as small as Website names and dates — can't we?

Really needed that date!

The History Manager only records the last time a link was visited. I think what you want is not accessible.

You would need an older copy of places.sqlite to inspect older history.

If you use the Time Machine or other backup then you can check if such a backup copy is available

Location used for the main profile that keeps your personal data (Root Directory on about:profiles).

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the "~/Library" folder in the Home directory is a hidden folder.
