My apologies for asking this question again - I've seen it asked many times, but I haven't seen a solution.

I am getting the following error when trying to get to a specific website;

Secure Connection Failed

The connection to ..snipped.. was interrupted while the page was loading.

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Can anyone tell me just what exactly is going on here? What data cannot be verified? Just what information do I need to provide to the website owner to fix this? This message is remarkably vague - I don't have any real information to provide.

I think this has to do with the website and not with Firefox, Maybe they have some compatibility issues with Firefox? As the message says, the owners of this website should be responsible as much as i know.

Except that it's Firefox that is throwing the error message. That being the case, I'd expect the Firefox message to shed some light on just what exactly the problem is. This error states that some data couldn't be verified. I realize that security people dislike handing out information, but it really is necessary here. No one is going to be able to fix the problem until they know just what data Firefox can't verify and why it can't verify it.

I have had a similar issue. Just to perhaps diagnose it better, check if you can access those sites through some free web proxy or a dedicated proxy server. If you can, it is possible that your ISP is blocking those sites for some reason.

Sorry, no. I happen to work for my ISP in a technical role - I know that we do not block websites.

I really don't think it's too much to ask that an error message say something beyond the moral equivalent of "something's wrong here" While this may be true, it's remarkably unhelpful. Next time you need to take your car to the mechanic, tell him only that "something's wrong" I'd love to see if he manages to fix the problem.
