I've been a Thunderbird user for years without problem. However, since May 22, three specific messages continually reappear after deleting them from my Inbox.

I keep my Inbox empty and it stays that way, except for these 3 messages. Removing them from the Trash folder has not solved the problem.

My email provider is netaddress.com via POP3 account. I signed on to look at my inbox on their site via a browser, and the messages aren't there.

I have tried repairing and compacting the inbox, but the messages continue t reappear.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Notification requests I would like Thunderbird to 1) notify me that I have received new email(s) even before I have opened Thunderbird. Partly by changing the icon on the taskbar and partly by playing a sound. And 2) also retrieve the emails that are there automatically when I open Thunderbird. Is that possible? How do I do that? I had Thunderbird on my Windows 10 computer. I bought a new Windows 11 computer and downloaded Thunderbird. When I try to set up my email account, I provide my full name (not my Thunderbird user name) and email address. The next screen has the message "Configuration found in Mozilla ISPDB ". I clicked on IMAP and hit continue. The next screen I type in my password for my Spectrum mail account. I have confirmed that the password works went I log onto the Spectrum website. The next screen has the Authentication error "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.". I've also tried using my Thunderbird user name and Password instead of my full name and Spectrum password with the same results. I know my Thunderbird user name is correct but I can't be 100% sure that my Thunderbird password is correct.

I'm not sure if this matters but my email has the has the extension ----@socal.rr.com. This was assigned to me by my original email provider, which was Time Warner Cable. Spectrum bought Time Warner Cable a few years ago and I think Spectrum uses a different extension.

Hello, I can't receive any of my e-mails. I can send e-mails out now. Plus I can put in my password to log into my e-mail. This has been a headache for me, I have been with Thunder Bird for years.

I also get a boxes that says : Unable to write the email to the mailbox. It says to make sure the file system allows me to write privileges, and I have enough disk space to copy the mailbox. I have enough space on my computer system and all. Another box that says my e-mail is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages. I did e-mail you yesterday on these issues. As I said I can e-mail messages out now also log into my e-mail with my password. Thanks, Chris

I had to reinstall everything after a Windows glitch. I always liked to have Thunderbird show a list of my emails with a window below to show the content of emails I selected in the list. But now I can't find anything in settings to allow me to do that.

I use Thunderbird when Postbox acquired another. I am using 2 computers - desktop, old (10+ years), still Windows 10, and 2 two emails; new laptop (traveling), Windows 11. I download Thunderbird and set up my accounts - gmail.com and twc.com. Troubles with gmail.com, but finally I set up. However, I can't set up twc.com. I like twc.com-- no reason. (Time Warner Cable (twc) bought Spectrum. ) I can login twc.com webmail. Not Thunderbird. I looked carefully set up, Thunderbird searched, found "Host: mobile.charter.net" (Huh?, , continue, enter my password - "Error: ---". I removed VPN Windows 11, no difference. (Curios, my laptop and Firefox, my bank rejected connection. My desktop and Firefox still connects! I dread the day must update.)

Migrating from a Win 10 laptop to a Win 11 laptop. Need to move the local folders as well but they were assigned a different ID and I can't change the target address in the new installation. Thanks in advance for your help. Rick.

To Whom it concerns, It has been about 4-5 days since I can't receive my e-mail. I have e-mail you different times with errors coming up. When I open my mail since yesterday an error now says error with acct. cray9@oh.rr.com. Another error occurred with the POP3mail server. The mailbox closes. Then a box comes up Thunder Bird crash reporter then I can put why and then restart my e-mail. It does try to load my e-mail then stops. And now my password box doesn't come up to put my password in. Last it says connection to mail.twc.com was reset then once again the mailbox closes. Please help, I have been a customer with Thunder Bird for years. Thank you!!

When I add a calendar event, it defaults to Holidays in US. How do I change this to the calendar associated with my email address? I often forget to change the desired calendar. Also, How do I edit the Holidays calendar? Thanks BigSam

Hi, bit of a strange ome. I have 4 email account in Thunderbird. One is my AOL account and one is my wifes AOL account. This morning my emails suddenly started appearing in both my AOL account and my wifes AOL account while her emails don't appar at all. I've deleteing her account and setting it up again but the same thing happpens. I'm at a loss. Can you help?

Login to server Mail.acsalaska.net with username napavalley@acsalaska.net failed I can't get emails. The program worked fine and then suddenly the error message appeared and won't stop

I have 4 seperate email addresses in Thunderbird. Only one of them has this problem and I would like to resolve it. When I send an email, the copy goes into "All Files" and not into the "Sent" email; folder. Which setting do I need to change to put it right please?

After click, Ask a question, a banner pops up saying my post is awaiting approval by a moderator. Why? What did I do or say that appeared so negative as to require approval first? IMO, it takes time for a Mod to mod it. Then it goes out for some people to see. It's not good for business if there is no wait time, and it a waste of time, if the problem asked, has a answer in a holding pattern, that goes in to a holding pattern again if/when the Post is permitted. Very odd..

Why Does Thunderbird Hang When Saving Draft? Right after creating a new email, and I "Save to Draft", Tbird says "Copying messages to Drafts" at bottom left of GUI.

The only way I could see to clear the "Copying..." message was to have Tbird check for mail in a different account. When I check for the draft in Drafts, it's not there - it's no where I checked except the original still in it's own opened GUI that opens when using "New Message"

Bottom line - can't save drafts.

I accidentally deleted a good number of my emails from my local Pop3 server account. I don't delete my emails from my gmail server so I can just redownload all my emails but cannot remember the prefix needed to do it.

If I recall correctly I go under settings for my email account, then go to server settings and add the prefix to my email shown in the Username field under the Pop Mail Server Section.

Can anyone remind me of the prefix?

It was like restore:[my email] or all:[my email].

I should have made a note of it as I cannot find it anywhere online now.

After using Thunderbird for many years, suddenly when I try to send an email, I get the error message "daily user sending limit exceeded". Apparently, I was the victim of a phishing hack yesterday, where a fictious email was send to everyone on my contact list. I have not been able to notify anyone because I can't send emails.

Hallo, ich habe vorgestern ein neues Win11 aufgesetzt und dann die neueste Version von Thunderbird installiert. Mir ist jetzt aufgefallen das sich die E-Mails nur mit einem Doppelklick öffnen lassen und das dafür ein neues Fenster aufgeht. Früher waren die Mails mit einem Klick zu öffnen und der Inhalt wurde auch direkt unter der Mail angezeigt . In den Einstellung steht der Doppelklick nicht in der Auswahl sondern als einzige Möglichkeit. Gibt es da irgendeine Möglichkeit um das anders einzustellen, einfacher Klick und direktes anzeigen ohne extra Fenster? MfG

Hello, the day before yesterday I set up a new Win11 and then installed the latest version of Thunderbird. I have now noticed that emails can only be opened with a double click and that this opens a new window. Previously, emails could be opened with a single click and the content was also displayed directly below the email. In the settings, double click is not in the selection but is the only option. Is there any way to set it differently, single click and direct display without an extra window? Best regards

My inbox folder costently says it has more messages than it displays (I can see the missing ones by searching). I have tried repairing it, looking at filters, etc., but nothing seems to work. See picture. Thank you!
