Sometimes message pane box got blank on one or two of the messages. I tried disabling hardware acceleration, did not help. I can clear by restarting Thunderbird. What is causing this? I am on a Mac M2 processor.

I have lost all my Thunderbird data due to the fact that I have a new PC with Win 11 (previously Win 10). I have not safed the mails and adresses on a separate storage device. This question was already answered by David and he asked if the old PC is still at hand. It is, but the harddisc was formatted and is now used in the new PC.

Is there any chance to rescue the lost data? If not it is not a real drama, but a mess! :-)

Yesterday morning (BST) none of my mail would transfer from BT into Thunderbird. I tried all day but Thunderbird could receive nothing from BT. This seized up/Froze my Thunderbird so I was unable to access ANY of my mail. Today that is still the situation - I NEED access to my old Mail Please but thunderbird is set to go straight to BT for new mail - because of that it freezes and prevents me seeing the thousands of previous emails. I'm just trying to start a new business and this cuts me off at the knees! Do you have a fix for me please?

I have CPTSD to yellow color. It is possible that I will feel headaches or stomachaches after I see that color too often. I just wonder is that possible to let us change the color. It is fine we cannot and I just allow remote content instead.

I have a laptop with windows 10 & Thunderbird 128.9.1 and a Samsung S10 using the Samsung email. Both are configured with IMAP. When I open the Samsung email to view and download emails, I can then get home and open my laptop with Thunderbird where it will also download.

If I were to log onto the Gmail through a web browser the email will show in the "all mail" label and no longer be in the inbox, unless I do the phone first and it stays in the inbox until downloaded on the laptop. so I can't get it on the phone if the laptop is used first.

Any ideas ? because logging on to Gmail through the web browser to forward it myself is a pain

Somehow I have lost my check and download email buttons at the top left of Thunderbird. I have checked what I believe is every option to get them back but to no avail. Somehow I hid the easy enough but now they are gone I can't seem to find out how to get them back.

All of my read messages have disappeared from Thunderbird and appear to have been deleted. How do I get them back?? I have no idea how this happened as I haven't changed any settings prior to this happening. I just opened my account this morning and they were gone.

I am experiencing strange behaviour with Thunderbird and certain add-ons. For some time now, when I use certain add-ons that are supposed to display a menu, the menu does not appear. It is replaced by a circle (see attached image : two different add-ons, not showing simultaneously, but merged into the same capture). I have disabled all other add-ons, but this has not resolved the issue. I think there must be a setting that is causing the problem. But with so many settings, I don't know where to look.

Does anyone know how to find the reason for this behaviour?

I am using Thunderbird 139.0.2 (64-bit) with Windows 11.

I exported Outlook Contacts to a .csv file and imported giberish to the Thunderbird Personal Address book. Can the giberish be block deleted? How should the Outlook Contacts be transferred to Thunderbird? Secondly, I exported Outlook Contacts to gmail and have used them on the web based gmail app to send messages. Don't remeber how the gmail contacts got to the Thunderbird Address book, but they don't work. The first message I sent from Thunderbird from my wife's gmail address to my hotmail address produced the following error:

Both imported address books are unuseable. Please help.

I have set my account to "Don't delete any messages", because I frequently want to reread a deleted message in my Trash folder. However, when I go into my Trash folder to search for a deleted message, I am finding that messages older than a certain date have disappeared, although I've done nothing to permanently delete them. For example, today everything older than May 3 is gone. What can I do to prevent this?

I am receiving emails but can't forward on an email or send a new email. The message that comes up on screen says "sender rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again". My email address is mryankillavalla@eircom.net

We’re having a weird issue with Thunderbird that’s showing up on multiple computers using the same mailbox. When we search using the top search bar (Ctrl+K), it often doesn't find all emails that clearly match the search term For example, we have multiple sent emails with the searched phrase in the subject, but Ctrl+K only finds one of them, even though there are two (or more) that match. When we use Ctrl+Shift+F (advanced search) with the exact same keyword and folder, all the matching emails show up just fine.

So it's not like the emails are missing —they're just not being picked up by the Ctrl+K search.

The annoying part is that Ctrl+K lets us open the whole conversation thread, which is really useful, while Ctrl+Shift+F only shows single messages.

Ive tried to:

- repair folders

- delete .msf files

- rebuild global database

- reenable "Include messages in this folder in Global Search results" but it did not help

And this isn’t just one machine, it's happening on every PC where this mailbox is used

(Sure I'llbe nice!! Specially if I can get an answer 😉) I'm sending out a newsletter and use Thunderbird. When I get to 80 recipients, it says I'm getting too many recipients to send. A friend said "all" I need to do is attach a label to my contacts, and then can put that label as recipient, and it will go to all my contacts marked with that label. (This is NOT the same as sorting messages in folders, as addressed in a previous question.)

Can you walk me through doing that in Thunderbird? Can I Do it, or do I need to switch to plain Gmail? Thanks. Anne
